Well, if it looks good in person. Can't argue with that. Still can't get over how good it looks, the way it glows it just unique.

Well I got lucky with that particular UV window molding and the UV acrylic. I got the acrylic from US Plastics to see if it was any good. Even in the twilight as I cut it I could tell the edge was flourescing--a good sign. A lot of times reds and yellows flouresce strongly--but to find a deep Royal Blue from something UV is a treat. I have more coming--and some UV red to take a look at...might make the aircooler red.

But I am always thinking about how I could make it better and easier to service--and frankly I might eliminate the top fil when I get some more plastic--and I a curious to see how it would look with the UV window gasket. I also have some black rubber gasketing that would look good--but both ways would lose the edge glow.

@ the Duke of Detroit

IN person indeed...I appreciate you paying me a call I hope we can collaborate on some projects in the Future.

I wish you could have seen those temp gauges go in--thanks again for pointing out how to mount them

So after several hours in Orthos the temps are stable at 45/42 for the two cores according to CoreTemp. PC Probe claims 45 to the CPU and 42 to the MB. For some reason the rear fan is running a tad slow at 1278 instead of 1400...not sure what to do about that. There is room for a 90CFM exhaust--and I am considering changing out the rear fan to see what that would do.

Still not bad for only two fans in the case.

I tried slipping some transparent blue heatshrink over them--they are color-changing LEDs that get more and more red as the temps rise--and they are really bright--so the heatshrink trick did not work. I would imagine the only way to do that would be desoldering and resoldering...which should have happened before I glued them in place. No worries--I have a cople more cases coming and will experiment with some other color choices for the acrylic/fluid/lights.

The fans are SilenX 72cfm 14 dba 120mm x 25mm units.

Wow man, I am utterly speechless after reading this and seeing what you have done.

Case modding is seriously your true calling and it's amazing.

Thanks. I do enjoy it.

BTW I ran 3DMark06 "select all" tests x 10 last night and saw no real jump in temps from when I was load testing.

However I don't trust coretemp anymore. As we all know y0u cannot go below ambient when liquid cooling--yet coretemp reports 18C/30C for temps at idle. Now that's patently false--our house averages about 24-26C...

PC PRobe reports 34C idle temps at the CPU--much more realistic than 30/18 for the cores.

Not sure if it's a glitch with my particular setup and coretemp--or if coretemp just sucks.

I feel that I have given the lil box a good shakedown and am considering taking it all apart now to do the final touchups before assembly.

Ira gave me some links for clamps and I should be seeing them in the mail shortly. Gotta love McMasterCarr... Going to seal the loop with stainless steel automotive type non-reusable pinchclamps. This should make for a ruggedized loop that can withstand shipping and handling--plus it will allow me to offer a warranty against leaks (and know if the loop has been tampered with or serviced by others ).

I've slept on the notion of removing the top fill and am inclined to do so. It will simplify the loop a fair amount--ease wiring the case--make the top panel easier to remove...too many positive points to ignore. If it turns out that filling from the drain is not feasible then I can always fill from the res.

I also ordered more analog guages and more of the crazy UV window molding--I want to make at least one more of these to have on hand--as well as an aircooled unit.

Have you tried using Speedfan? I have had the most accurate reporting with my current AMD set-up using it. For Intel it's a different story.

I get the same readings in Speedfan as PC Probe...CoreTemp was touted as being more accurate--but it's reading about 9C below ambient at idle---which I can only wish was true
