Thanks...and asking prices at gunpoint is sure to get the bottom line. I'm thinking for an aircooled version with a quick squirt and no PSU maybe $200 tops...depends on how much goes into it. Maybe less.
The PSU that ships with the case is no slouch--I have used a few in Folding Rigs...but a 380 is not really a gamer's choice... Second guessing what the best PSU is and shelling out close to $300 on a hunch--then sheathing it and putting that in the case adds as much as Watercooling... I'm going to try and stick to empty cases with either mods for improved airflow/aesthetic or LCC conversions pre-installed. Hardware is ridiculous--and my idea of what's adequate may be way more or not enough for the person wanting the case...

Been very productive today--I love it when the fam goes out for a bit. Got the HDD bay fabricated out of bar stock--and mounted on isolators with the whole deal...juiced up the lines to get a feel for how hard it would be to fill up the unit if it arrived dry...put in some UV lights and juiiced it all up with a jumpered PSU to take a look. The case window looks really wild...
![]() I love the blue fluid. It's not UV reactive... ![]() To put it mildly the window molding glows under UV--as does the window itself...in a very odd foggy way... ![]() It's actually to the human eye a pure blue--like a blue LED blue--but my camera freaks out on it... ![]() Here's the HDD holder I manufactured out of 1" x 1/8" aluminum stock--I bent it, drilled it, popriveted it with silicon rubber grommets inbetween. ![]() I made an isolator on the back edge with some foam tape and some packing tape stuck to the other sticky side--drilled and tapped on the back for a thumbscrew. ![]() Here's a detail of how I used a grommet and a pop rivet to isolate the drives from the chassis. ![]() THumbscrew location--the front of the hdd cage rests on a pre-existing tab winto which I inserted a grommet. ![]() ![]() I'm running it all off a crappy little 250 watt PSU behind the case... I juiced it up to see how the blue fluid would look and the fans and all that... ![]() I like how the UV adds to the LED fan...I have some neon paint I am going to squirt in there momentarily.. ![]() The flash makes the fliud look very bright blue... ![]() The tee fitting is UV reactive--every little bit helps... ![]() Just to demonstrate that once the loop is filled the entire motherboard/PSU GFX cards are accessable by simply removing the WB and Pump and hanging them with wire ties out of the way. I am getting ready to fire up the beast..just have a few more mods... ![]() Here's a PC Power and Cooling 510 SLI that runs this rig just fine--only problem is the extreme length of all the leads--and the extra leads that won't be useful in a such a small rig. The plan is shorten the 24 pin cable so it will accomodate the case better--and changing out the black sheathing for something reflective...and eliminate the extra 3 SATA leads inside the box. Eliminate the molex lead with the FDD cable as this box will not be running a floppy...shorten the the PCIe power leads to just reach the GFX cards and sheath them together --splitting them a few inches from the end....so I am hunting up the solder and heatshrink...my plan is to skip the wonderful depinning process by snipping, slipping the sheathing over, slipping heatshrink for the sheathing oveer, slipping heatshrink for each lead over--soldering each lead and then covering my tracks..Probably going to take a little while.. While I am in there I am changing out the Delta that come with the PC power unit for a milder fan. When this PSU was first released it WAS the case cooler...LOL--so I need to detune that a notch. More later! But then the case will have an appropriate PSU to power up the A8NSLI32 or any other rig of that calibre.

Looking good, the response of the edges on that UV reactive acrylic is something else.

I don't think your camera gives your case enough credit.
It should look better than in the picture, and i'm 100% sure it looks great IRL!

Thank you for that!
I have gotten a ways along with the PSu mod--then (company coming) I had to put that aside for a bit. I did manage to get the case cabling sheathed...sheathed the Pump and the lights and the front panel wiring (USB and switches) Went ahead and properly mounted the mobo and the WB to the CPU and generally got the rig a little closer to firing off... I am leaning toward making this a complete build--the A8NSLI32 is still a potent board--the X2 4400 still a decent dual core and a pair of 7800GTs is nothing to complain about...I even have a slim 160 GB SATA 300 in there...and some really good RAM And if no one wants that particular rig I can always pull it and sell the empty case...

just a quick comment, but i don't personally like how the pump is tilted at a slight angle in view of the window. The pump it's self doesn't really look bad IMO, but it looks wierd tilted like that...

I think DesertRat has a point there, it does look a little quirky that way. If it was straight then it would be a A+, atm i think it's an A. Talking about the pump alone, the entire case is a A++

Thanks guys--I was crafting a picture post when my company arrived--hope I get a chance to show you what else i have gotten done.
I know about the pump--it bugs me too--I am making a bracket out of aluminum for it to elevate it and keep it looking level to te rad. Last night I was up til 3am working on the sheathing of the case wiring--I got it together pretty much...pictures coming. Still working on modding the PC Power 510...got about half done when the wife needed me to do about ten things at midnight to get radty for the company... WHen I get a few moments I will try and upload some images and show you how this box looks at night. The "eye" is really tripping. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
