Someone in the wanted threads has a armor door with fan that they're looking to trade +$20 for a fanless one. http://www.overclock.net/wanted/1844...ide-panel.html

Thank you for the heads-up, but as you will see when I add more pictures, I need the door without the fan.

I am going to further mod the front panel to cover the blue LED as well, so time to take apart my system again.

I have updated the LED mod post, as well as added a post for my attempt at modding the 25cm fan. Soon I hope to have time to post my case construction in installments.

Couldn't you fix the cracks by replacing the window section with one from the regular door? The crack that is visible looks like it could be easily replaced.

Just a thought though ^_^

Well I'd still have to cut the hole in the regular door's plastic, and seeing as how I obviously have mediocre modding skills at best, I don't think that would be a good idea for me...

I still don't know how to detach it, though admittedly I haven't looked at it hard enough. It's probably something as simple as pushing in some tabs.

I don't have my armor's original side panel anymore, or I'd check it out, but I think it would be a simple mod. What I mean is the on pane (speaking like the three sections were actually separate panes of plastic) is cracked, so you could cut it off around the edges, where it's not visible. Then replace it with the exact same section from the original side panel. This way you wouldn't have to re-cut the hole.

The acrylic is all one piece.

Default Disassembly

Here is my Precious, completely devoid of anything other than the power switch front bay:

This picture was taken before the drill bit decided to take the acrylic to town. I actually don't have a GPU in there in the photo either, so what you are looking at is my X-Fi. The X1900XTX I had was on its way back to newegg, as it decided to stop working at stock speeds, resetting my computer unless I drastically underclocked it. Hopefully I will just get my $480 back so I can buy an R600! I have since purchased an XFX 7600GT as a backup card. I'd take a picture of it but it's nothing too spectacular since it's a low profile card. On a side note, despite how it looks, that carpeting is actually quite dirty! Someone needs to vacuum around here...

And here are all the pieces:

In this photo you can see my two 150GB WD Raptors, one of which was the RAID 0 failure culprit. I will see how they work shortly and put them up for sale, as they have been replaced with 4 x 36GB WD Raptors. You can also see the original 25cm fan and mesh (which has since been sold to bdattilo) in the upper left on top of my printer. In front of my keyboard, next to the HDDs, are a bunch of front panel bay guards, separated from their mesh dust filters. It took me a good 45 minutes to clean all 6 of the bay guards - unacceptable! Next in line are my Sony ODD and one of my two iCages.

Here you can see the other iCage. Those are some Swiftech RAMsinks on top of my Yamaha Subwoofer. I had intended to use them to improve my Tuniq Tower's cooling ability, but I have since decided not to do that and am not sure what I will use them for.

By this time I also learned that my camera does not like to auto-focus properly on things, and since it would take me forever to get pictures again, you'll have to deal with the blurriness...

The next installment will show the $550 in supplies I ordered, which were discussed in the original post.

Interesting log. Try using drillbits specific for plastic--they have a special tip that keeps the plastic from cracking.

Keep up the good work--and more pics please.
