Scarring Your Psyche

Hey guys I think I got something here that will be of interest to most Antec 900 owners.
Here's some shots of dome fun stuff you can do to your 900. As we 900 owners know cable management can be a challenge. The bigger the Power Supply--the bigger the challenge. I decided to take the bull by the tail and face the situation by choosing to manage the cables on a PC Power and Cooling 750 Silencer. Non modular with about 65 feet of copper hanging out it's butt, the Silencer is a beast. While I wait for Imagesux.us to try and upload my pics let me fill you in on what I am developing for the Antec 900. A member posted a shot on my Velocitor thread a whle back depicting a 240x25mmm rad top mounted i his 900. I thought WTH let's see how this works--the best thing would be to mount a 200x200mmx25 that would take full advantage of the Big Boy spinning away uup there--but even though 40mm of the BlackIceProII would be blocked I have a feeling it will work pretty well anyway. Last time I ordered from McMaster-Carr I got some SS wire reinforced foodgrade 1/2" ID tubing that takes a sever bend pretty well--plus it looks different ![]() ![]() THere has been a storm here so the internet is wierd...still waiting on the other shots so I will ramble on... Besides getting the LC loop complete I also made another acrylic panel and now have two nearly identical Naked 900s--but this one gets the 750 and the LC system. Once again I used SS pinch clamps to seal the loop--fill it and forget it. This System is about as economical a loop as I have built--the most expensive part is the Swiftech Apogee GTX. I decided to use that as this Rig will house a C2D motherboard and the GTX is C2D only. Plus it looks nice. LC Parts LIst: DB-1 Pump $50 Apogee GTX $80 I bay clear acrylic reservoir $35 Wire reinforced tubing $7 Pinch Clamps $3 BlackIceProII $40 $215 before Fluid--I will use PrimoChill Blood Red with some Fiery Red UV Dye added so as another $25--$240. I hope it performs well as it would make for a very easy kit to preassemble, test and mount. I only had to drill 2 holes to mount the rad--but I am going to make a simpler mounting system that will not require removing the top panel. There is barely enough room for a standard sized DVD like the 18X Sony I am using...but it does fit.. This loop made use of a number of 1/4 NPT Eldon type barbed 90 degree elbows due to the space constraints--although I favor usig more tubing and making sweeps--this time I went for the absolute minimum and made straight runs whenever possible. THis will make for a ultra Spartan look to the case. The second improvement I made was to make holes int he mobo tray side panel to dissappear the miles of cabling hanging off the PC Power. I happen to have a couple of chunky modular supplies on hand as well--these are the squarish ones that use a 140mm fan--a TT ToughPower and an XClio. To keep the cbaling sweet I would have to flip those upside down and the fan would be on the case floor--so I made a 140mm hole on the case floor to perfectly accomodate that fan. I then put in the long bodied PC Power 750 andbetween the two differet PSUs I determined a good length and locaton for a slot to poke all the cabling through as close to the PSU as possible. Chances are I will not have a rig that really requires 750 watts and Quad PCIeX cabling--so I wanted to future proof this case to easily accept any PSU and still make use of the cable routing holes. I then popped a couple of holes the same size as the ones Antec put in the REv 2 900 for tubing out the back panel. These holes are to get the annyoing fornt panel cables out the side as soon as possible--and then let them back in right by the pinouts on a C2D board. I then re-used the LC grommets fromt heback in the two small holes. THe last lozenge-shaped hole is halfway behind the mobo with enough width to let the motherboard cabling come out right bt the 24pin headed on the mobo. That out of the way I then edged all the cutouts and holes and moved on to polishing the front panel--I did the front panel alittle different--and fitted a pair of 90cfm SIlenX fans and put the grilles on the back of the fans so the pretty mettalic turbine-like blades of the fans are exposed... I also polish the heck out of the face panel this time and it came out very nice. So I guess I will try to upload shots tomorrow as I am beat--having ben modding straight on for about 14 hours ![]() More Soon. BTW the pics are not uploading..sorry about that...check back tomorrow...

Nice job as usual CD.
My rigs down for awhile so I may just try to get some management into those cables. About all I can do with it at the moment. Stupid motherboard... :/
