So a while ago I decided I wanted to mod my P180. I decided to wait until summer to do it, and summer is here! I'm gonna start it either this weekend or next. What I'm doing:

Painting the case black
Having a professional painter paint a design on the left side of the case
On the right side, cut a window
Cut a few holes on the motherboard tray, to rout cables behind

It's going to be basic, but I'm gonna take a bunch of pictures.

I'll update this when I start.

06/22/07:
We cut the window today. Here's a pic of it before we file it down and make it look all pretty. We're gonna pick up some rubber gaskets tomorrow.

06/25/07:
Neither Home Depot nor Auto Zone had rubber gaskets, so I had to order them online. I can't really work on the case much during the week, so I will probably update this again Friday when we finish the window and paint it.

07/01/07:
Painted the primer on the case today, but didn't have enough time to do the actual paint. I also sent the side panel out to get painted, and I will add pics here once he sends them to me.

07/16/07:
Well, it's been a while since I've updated. The person I was painting the case with has been out of town for two weeks. The guy that is doing the design on the side of my case started painting, but his compressor broke, and he has to get a new one. He sent me a pic of what it looks like so far. He has just done the basic bottom layer, but it looks pretty sweet, and I cant wait for him to add more detail.

07/21/07
I was bored this morning, so I thought why not rerout the cables in my PC. I have a before and after picture, but the only camera I have is on my phone, so the quality isn't so great. The one problem I see arising from this is that I routed so many cables around the back side of my computer, I don't know whether the side door will fit on. Oh well, I guess we'll see when I get it back from being painted.

I got an email back from the guy painting the case, saying he finished it. It looks amazing, he did a great job! He sent me 3 pics, so I'll post them here.

07/23/07
Got a few coats of paint on tonight. Using semi gloss black for the front and side with the window. We didn't have enough time to finish it, so we're gonna finish painting it on friday. Hopefully the other side will arrive by friday, and the mod will be finished.

Well, I got the painted side of the case back today, but bad news. The guy that painted it... painted it upside down. I'm in the process of contacting him to see what's going to happen, but this is bad

Good luck man, and GET THAT PRO-PAINT DONE FAST!!!!

Love to see what an artist can do with an airbrush. . . I can't paint for crap, so it's always nice to see. lol
