Default my current rig :: project behemoth

Here is project behemoth the full worklog so far:

I received the case, and I bought some paint, bondo and some tools for the job. I didnt do much to the case, except remove some components. I didn't paint, but I took off the front case door. total spent $100

There is the frame of the case with a test motherboard to contrast the size of it. Also to the bottom left is my big foot which I wear a size 13 USA shoe.

Here is a blurry image contrasting the size of my case to the size of the new case. Big eh?

Im about to cut some switch holes in my case, and bondo some holes from the case door.

Lol i didnt want to take off the rivets and put them on agin, so I used2 trashbags instead of the ususal one. :P

Well, Where I live the sun dosent always come out. So drying my UV reactive bondo was a bit hard, until I realized I had a tanning bed in my basement. It dosen't dry as fast as it with the sun ,but it works great anyways.

Woohoo!!! I finally finsished everything but the side I had to do the metal, because I screwed up royaly on the paint job in those areas. Hopefully the metal wont peel off on the count its just a sticker.

I didnt do much today, Just Thought of how to do the side window, and if I should use wheels or not on the bottom.

Here is a more clear picture of how big this case is :P

I measured the side, and Im ready to cut the side tomorrow.

Woot! I found this huge 4x4 foot peice of plexi glass in our barn That means I didn't have to go to ripp-off depot to buy some!!!

With minimal scratches, I cut out the window, with my Grandfathers help of course.

Well i ducktaped the plexi to the side, to see if it woudl fit, and it worked great.

Well I got 6 fans, and a new Powersupply today, and i am done with part one of my case mod. Hopefully I can get a hold of a micro fridge, and integrate it to the top 3 bays.

My awesome lcd.
Guide on how to make it: http://home.insightbb.com/~dead7iesw...ehemoth/6.html

Finally! This one was a hard update, considering that my SD card would just heatup when put in the reader. Well probably because of the fact it was below 0, and we had no heat.

Got the carbon fiber on there ready for the LAN tomorrow.

Update! I spent most of the day reorganizing the wires and such in my case. I would have shown a pic, but my camera is screwing up. It looks sexy now, adnd nice an clean. Hopefully it strengthens airflow

Edit: got my camera working again.

As you can notice it looks alot better, and cleaner

Lol also I put a fan near my fan speed controller, so that i could create some more ambient lighting. I used this to my advantage, and used the fan to cool my ccfl

I got my dual core and i cantr power all 13 of my fans so i got dual psus remember the top psu, its the one i moded not to long ago. Now im up to 950watts combined and my proc is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.2ghz.
I need a new heatsink because i could not afford zalmans $60 heatsinc My load temp is 125 F (100% on both cores)

Here is a pic of the interior of my case, with my new zalman fans

We also had a lan on newyears herea shody pic of my playin css with a huge tv

lol heres a pic of my progress:

i got a good bit donme im gonna make a diamond plate control panelk with my pda screen in the middle also heres a list of stuff im adding:
PDA Screen (games, movies, etc :P)
cool rocker switch with cover
some cool case lights for the bottom or top of case.
A new powewr swithc
a stealthy cd drive

Update! I got most of the front plate done but my pda screen cracked well it was a bit far fetched of an idea so im now gonna have a window in the front and an led setup as well. progress:

Lokin good eh? I finally have an actual power swithc instead of a bare one hanging out of a pci slot :P
Also i need some input. Ok the switch i have runs on 12 volts, so how much resistors should i use for my leds, and how should i wire them? Also I have a piece of diamond plate the size as the front of my dvd r and i want to have one of those stealthy setups where you push on the piece of metal and the drive comes out. How wouldi go about doing this?

Just got all the connections set up (all except for the leds) Now its on my case:

Also im going to make my dvd burner have a clear top since the front window is right above it. So yeah this is gonna be sweet!

lol I'm still adding to this case :P

Well i just recently oced my gfx card and it was running hot. So I took some spare 120mm fans that were laying around and stuck em in my case with some wire. I also took out the plexi since its a crap piece and it was being held onto by duct tape. The 2 120mm fans reduced my 7900gs load temps from 75c to 61c

Heres some pics:

I might also place the hard disk bays in the top since its begin unused and i could use some more 120mm's :P

More on this as it unfolds.

I started up the hard drive holder for the top of the computer today. Seeing that the case has 2x psu slots I am using an old test psu that is dead. (popped caps) I am going to place both of my disks in there and put a fan in the back for cooling. Heres my current progress:

PSU's old internals:

Trimmed and ready to be sized up for drilling holes for hdd's:

Lit up and in the case:
