Got everthing together to transfer my main beast into the new case I built.

The only element missing is the 2900XT...but I will just go ahead and get the install over with...

The install wentt successfully. The temps in the case are 4 C lower on the CPU and 5 C higher on the chipset...I added some cooling for the RAM because it is very hot at 1070 but runs perfectly at a slight undervolt of 2.95.

The P5K will change how you overclock for sure. I usually disable everythingin BIOS and set all voltages and timings manually. that actuallyy makes for a hotter and less stable OC than if you leave it all to the Asus and Auto...wierd.

I overvolted the CPU for the fan tests to make some heat..I had to go up to 1.475 to get 1.42 in CPU ID...now that I just want to dsee how high and cool I can run the Quad I kept lowering and lowering the voltages and finally said WTH and put them to auto...amazingly enough the overclock is jsut as stable with a 4 C reduction to the CPU.

The mobo temps are dropping down too.

The sound dampening I did to the case is really paying off--those SanAce fans are nearly perfect for running at the jlowest setting on the Silverstone Fan Controller.

Everything is as it should be..the Quad is running at 3.23 and folding smoothingly at 35C and that's all I really wanted.

The window is making a nice piicture...the X1950pro look gorgeous--the red housing is UV reactive lol.

Very pleased with how everthing went. The big worry with these Lian Li cases is smudges and fingerprints and I was extremely careful to avoid making them...the interior is still pristine as is the back of the mobo panel...so this case is still a jewel...unlike so many other rigs I have cobbled together for myself...this one is the pick of the litter.

Now for some pictures of the beast in action.


I started by pulling the cables and lifting the tray of the base. The HDDs hanging off teh bottom of the tray would be the first item on the list.

Once the HDD sinks are assembled it is pretty much just plop the HDD init and close it up...

At this point the camera was full and I had no rig to DL lol..so I will skip thte tedious stuff..you get a break this time.

I got me a new rig...came down this AM and it was still there! how cool

Loving the set up..cool and quiet...almost 6-8 c cooler than the tech station
