Forget boring beigh im lookin to go postbox red with this mod.
Its an OLD beigh case, it was what my grandad had his pc in before he upgraded.





Basically this is the idea, to turn this boring case into a small neat lookin pc to put in my garage or to sell to someone at work.

To help you get the idea of what I have in mind, heres a pic I made:

First update

I cleaned the case, primed it and sprayed it red.

I ordered 2 pieces of acrylic, 1 black and 1 clear cut to my spec. Then I've cut out the holes for cd drive bays. (still got the buttons and fan hole to do)

The hole for the 120mm fan in the acrylic will probs be square now not circle

I didnt want to peel off the cover on the acrylic as i'll be drilling it again, thats why I didnt bother showing you the clear piece. I'll hopefully find some nuts & bolts that will do that job of holding the acrylic in place soon.

Right well here is a tiny update, Ive now got the window cut-out done and the cutout in the black acrylic for the fan/filter. I'll be sanding & priming the outer case later on tonight, maybe get a coat of red on if I stop up late... As yet no fan hole on the top but im workin on it.

The outer case panel has now been sprayed black, heres some pics and look how shiny it is!!!

Well heres the case panel with the window put in place (glued). Just needs tidying up around the edges and some glue has seeped over the edge:

Right I need to get this pc finished asap... Its not gonna be watercooled as its being sold to a guy at work hopefully. I need to take the window out and get rid off all the glue as its not strong enough. Im gonna bolt it in place instead now.
Its a fairly good system and ive built it really cheap as well:

I will post the next update soon I hope, I need it finished asap to sell on.
Some of the pics have watercooling components in as it was goin to be WC at first but it isnt anymore.

UPDATE - NEARLY THERE NOW

I did quite a bit of work on it last night, just got finishing touches left now i.e power switch
I am gonna change the nuts to spacers between the acrylic pieces
I may or may not paint the front of the chassi black (where there is the red stripe behind the black acrylic)
Im also not 100% happy with the bezels but I havent got much choice really.

You see in the cack next to the PCI slots?

Personally I would recommend adding some small 40 or 60 mm fans there to at least have abit mre airflow

Thanks every1, glad you like it.. has been left unfinished for a while now and its about time I got it sold.

Someone has previously suggested that to me but I dont think a 40mm fan fill do much good. I was thinkin abt buyin one of those fans that sits in a PCI slot instead though.
