I feel for ya nagal...

There is not one full-case project that I have completed that I almost walked away from, and in two instances actually did until an epiphany hit me that allowed me to work my way around my own blunders.

As you stated, a re-work of the design is often the solution. And, occasionally it yields a better result.

Well I do have another design in mind that I like a lot better than what I was going for but I need to research materials again. Luckily, a lot of the hardware I bought is still usable so its only the lexan and probably the aluminum that went to waste. The aluminum was cheap so no big deal there but the lexan wasnt.

Isnt there a saying about the costly mistakes being the ones you learn from the most? If not, I just made it a saying

Yes it has been quite here but that is going to change. UPS just delivered my 1/8" gray tinted acrylic!! So when I get home tonight, its back to work

This is a different design than what I was going for before but the general idea is still the same, cube case with lots of mesh.

I love the sound of power tooks. In truth... the only sound that gets my attention faster than the sound of power tools is the the "tic" - "tic" - "tic" of high heels

So.... when do we get an update?

HAHAHAHAHA! Yup, I can spot that sound a mile away!

Should not be bad noise tonight as I will just be scoring the panels to size and then going inside to start doing component layout.

I will probably post something tonight.

well no pics... I mean its just acrylic panels

I have to give big props to Syrillian, the 1/8" acrylic is SO much more rigid than the lexan it is not even funny AND it scores and breaks so easily!

I got all the panels scored today and the test fitting looks awesome, everything lining up nicely. I also laid out the big components (atx back plane, 120mm exhaust fan, dual 120 rad, psu) and there is going to be plenty of room for it all.

So now I need to order some case corners

Lots going on but no pics. Sorry I have been that busy!

I got the corner braces and the ATX back plane primed and will be ready to paint tomorrow.

I started drilling the holes in the panels for the corner braces when I found out:

1) I missed cut a piece (grumble)
2) Another piece has a huge scratch in it.

So hopefully by Wed, another sheet of acrylic will be waiting for me on my door stop. It should be Tuesday since McMaster is only a one day UPS for me but UPS always takes 2 days delivering the large sheets

I also tore apart an old Silverstone tek case and salvaged a nice button to use for the reset switch and a very cool USB/Firewire/Audio header assembly.

Hopefully but Wed night, I will have some pics up
