Default New Plexi Case (Need Name) Log

So I've had nothing to do lately and found sketchup. I've been wanting a plexi case, and a case with a monitor in it so I figured why not mock one up?
It took a LONG time but here is my v1 concept. I'm looking for comments/ways I can improve the case (want it small, as I go to LANs often).
One thing I can't figure out right now would be how to change the tilt of the monitor in the case(need a new monitor section/part).

Here are some screens.

Front, you can see the monitor and top exausts.

Left Side, you can see the intakes, cd drives, and the PSU.

Back, you can see the Big Typhoon (Will attach to the back side with thumb screws), the bottom intakes, HDs, and the rest of the exausts.

Right Side, you can see the rest?

Edit: Forgot to mention I'll be putting my current hardware in it (maybe a new dual core :P) and it needs a name!

Also you can download the sketchup model for modification ect at the bottom.

I'm planning on building this as soon as I get the funds so tips would be appreciated!

That's a very nice render and good design. I will study it for a bit.

It's a LANster for sure.

My first suggestion is to mount the monitor with a swing out arm. You would have to fab it as there are none that compact I am aware of. I will hunt up a link to the one I am familiar with so you can see how that might improve the angle..

Second suggestion is to include a niche for the Keyboard and mouse...then you have a totally portable package...

I assume the form factor is controlled by the size of the monitor.

SInce you will need to elevate the base anyway that would be a logical storage niched for the keyboard.

Perhaps a tray or channel below the intakes that would be a convenient catchall for that sort of perpipheral gear (headphones even )

My monitor has screws on the back where the stand attaches to it, think it would be possible to screw a monitor arm to that?

I'll draw it up here quick.

Yep, it has worked out quite nicely though.

Drew it up,

I think a 2" base would do, my keyboard is tiny. 10.5"x5.5"x1"

The panels would secure on with thumbscrews again, with very long screws so I could extend the panels out without taking them completely off.

I think it would be pretty cool and original if you made a bag for it , so as to protect the easily scratch-able lcd , and Plexiglases sides. Something like the one from thinkgeek but with some sort of stretchable synthetic fabric all around. You could even sew on the name !

For the undercase "cubby" imagine a C-section (could be acrylic) with a slide out tray that holds your gear. When you remove the tray then you have the "opening" for the fans at the front and rear... simply extend the sides to form th needed elevation and fuse a piece of acrylic to their bottom edges to fomr the C-Section support. Make a tray slightly smaller than the interior of the C-Section and slide it in to store and out to run.
