Yea, we all have those kinds of moments. If it didn't happen to you yet, it will sooner or later.
Please, keep them on!(the clothes that is ). Seriously tho, I get why you're not removing it yet. I peeled one of my plexi sheets, and now it's a bit scuffed up. I should of waited until I was done with the work It might have to be replaced now, if I can't polish it out somehow.

Here is the key hardware, sans the CPU block. For some unknown reason I seem to have forgotten to take a picture of it prior to mounting it… Der!... Never the less, it is a Stinger V8.
Silverstone PSU ![]() E6850 ![]() Asus P5N32-E SLI mobo ![]() EVGA GTX and EK block ![]() It took me about 45 minutes of careful cleaning to remove the golf ball-sized dollop of thermal grease that was under the stock cooler….. I’m exaggerating about the size, but for crying out loud!!… the TIM was oozing out over the retaining bracket and onto the PC board! ![]() The reservoir ![]() The modded stock mounting bracket, I used a combination of standoffs and a setscrew. ![]() This is the pad that the bottom of the reservoir will rest upon. The portion that makes contact with the case panel is metal, and I did not want it to get scratched. ![]() A portion of the case wiring needed to be done prior to installing the motherboard. ![]() The installed loop ![]() In order to bleed the loop thoroughly I used a fill port and an extension so that I could tip the case completely on its side (relative orientation from its resting side) in both directions. I only tipped it over for a few seconds at a time to ensure that the air pockets in the radiators would clear…. it was rather hair-raising and nerve-wracking. ![]() Here is the IDE cable for the Plextor optical drive. I sliced the clear end pieces off and sleeved it in black. Once again in my excitement and haste I declined to take an “after” picture, but the results can be seen in images later on. Here is the “before” shot. ![]() I ran into another hurdle when I went to install the HDD cages. The wiring was not going to be able to run from the bottom-side. The plate that the HDD cage slides onto/into effectively closed the gap that I had created by moving the drives forward. I had to make a change in plans; the wiring was going to loop over the cages. I left the HDD in the forward position as the data and power lines still needed space to plug in, and the positioning pushed the Raptor further into view from the front-side. ![]() Raptor nest (rear) ![]() Raptor nest (front) ![]() Next: Wire management and lighting.

Yay!
More progress. Was wondering how things were going. Your photos are great; I can almost smell the work area ... new paint, anti-static plastic bags, new silicone and copper ... Very textile/sensual aspect to watching a build in progress ... Keep it coming mang!

Last lap.
Lighting and wiring. Red. Not Blue. Red…. Lots of Red…. "Sanguine Addiction"..... ![]() Interesting word, “sanguine”, for most contextual purposes it means “hopeful”, or “optimistic”…. as an interesting side note it also means “Bloody…. this has bearing here.... The case is essentially done. I need only to cut the holes for the fan grills in the HDD window panel, and then mount both window panels. I also intend to do a minor hardware mod to enhance the performance of Vista itself, but I may wait a week or so before I attempt it. As I sit and contemplate the process and results of this mod I realize that I have learned two certainties in my life. 1) I detest painting. 2) A removable loop is much easier to bleed than a fixed loop. I am also uncertain as to the name, but I will ask advice on that subject in the final. I already complained about the burring that was present in the stock case. Even after finishing the edges I still felt that they were too sharp and angular. Especially the ones that are visible through the window panels. I used some automotive door trim to ease the edges. ![]() The array of cold cathode lighting: ![]() I removed the covers on the inverters and painted the bases black. Since there is an abundance of visual area in the case I decided to fill it with the electronic bits and pieces of the build. ![]() Here are the 80mm exhaust fans and the mounting hardware. ![]() ![]() The final window panel is located in the PSU area of the case. It is small, and will house the Zalman 6-fan controller. The Zalman was also stripped of all its stock mounting hardware. Here is a series of shots showing the fitment, the window, and the fan controller mounted in it, and finally mounted in the case. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Raptor nests: ![]() One eyesore was the PCI-E power cables for the VGA card. Although having the dual connections running off of one line is very handy, it leaves a lot of bare wire that is difficult to control and made to look pretty – a veritable Taming of the Shrew. The tamed shrew: ![]() And some more shots: ![]() ![]() ( ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well… that is about it for the build log. I will have one more post for the window panels. Additionally I am considering making an acrylic housing for the dual radiator. The matte finish looks nice, but is mildly incongruous. Then it is the final wax, polish and buff for a little photo-shoot. Thanks for looking.

Lookin really sweet.. that purple colour that the paint gives out is awesome!!
How come you put that radiator on top instead of down in the bottom section, though it would make sense to keep it all internal... maybe I missed something (I apologise if I did) Thats a cool idea with the rear fan controller, that would be a crackin solution for controlling the radiator fans in my new build!! + Rep as usual!!

Amazing, just amazing! I love the color shift on the paint. I'm still waiting on that bronze window tho...

I like how you have it set up. I really want to see some shots that show off the lighting on the RaptorX drives.
