Gotta love the little touches by Silverstone, like not blocking airflow for the back fans by installing grills - are they two 80mm or two 120mm fans?
.... heh! we think alike. I bypassed the 09/10 for that very reason.

It is true. The top, front and bottom are all one piece of very solid steel - beautific!

The rear fans are 80mm ... I still have to figure out the specifics insofar as the airflow. The setup is inherently problematic as I want both radiators to be a part of the main case, and I want each radiator to have an airbox, and each airbox to have 120x38mm fans (how's that for a run on sentence ). This adds considerable depth (or height - depending upon orientation). I certainly don't want an enormous "Chimney" poking out of the case.... but I think that I have worked my way around that one.

You won't regret it.

An excellent suggestion. I will consider it, but I wonder if the added depth, including the 2-3 mil added by the layered primer and paint will interfere with a clean re-assembly. I have some paper-thin (almost) rubber washers that I could try that with... The tolerances were already quite strict without any paint - testimony to excellent craftsmanship.

Danke. ...but I assure you, those lazy louts aren't just sitting around. I have them hard at work earning their keep.

The camera is a Canon PowerShot A640. It is a decent camera.

Default Update: Prime -n- Paint

Here are the internal chassis pieces with a couple coats of self-etching primer.

I really did not want to drill on the case at all, but mounting the pump in a manner that I felt was secure required that I do just that. So… 2 holes it is.

Okay….I really can not go any further without explaining my self and my reasoning to ya’ll. The naming of this mod is derived from its main characteristics.

Liquid – pretty straight forward.

Chameleon – because it changes color.

The effect is not as dramatic as I initially hoped for, it is more subtle. This is probably due to the lack of surface area for the entire effect to take from. I used Chrome Illusion paint. This paint the changes color depending upon which angle the field is observed from. There is a high probability that most of you have seen this on automobiles either in person, or in a magazine. The right combination of colors can make quite a striking visual impact… unfortunately for me the morphing is subtle and discreet as the colors are very close together in the color spectrum. I used Blueberry, Black, and Deep blue as the combination.

Here are some shots. Please excuse the dust and wax; I have not put the final coat on yet.

The Panels:

…and some more of the topside:

I will try to make a video to post at the conclusion of this project to show the effect. I can say from seeing pictures and the actual pieces that some of the luster and transformation are lost in the translation to still life.

All the colors that you have seen are inherent in all the pieces…. It just depends from what angle and side that the observer is looking from. For the most part the case looks High-gloss Black with a hint of Blueberry.

As I stand back and ponder the outcome, I find that I rather like the more subtle change in the coloration… or perhaps I am merely settling into a rut of lowered expectations…

…nah… She’s SEXAH!

Looks great as expected!

BTW; have you seen this?

I think I saw a post of yours (could be totally wrong) about you and FluidXP, but I don't remember if you said you were for it or against it. But, it seems it would fit the mod nicely.

It turns green under UV light, and when the UV is turned off, it's orange.

This is where I disagree with you

Personally, I think you've hit it right on the head if the pictures are anything to go by.

The TJ-07 is a sleek, sophisticated case and I think the paint job should tie in with that - of course, if your going all the way for a bold colour it'll look amazing, but I think a subtle look does it a hell of a lot of justice

Man, you really need to stop now...I'm having SO many ideas for getting this case (£200) which seem to involve anodizing, laser cutting and copper plating

But moving away from my slight obsession with planning on spending ridiculous amounts of money (which I can't really afford) on a single dream case (which I can't really afford either) - can't wait to see the next update, and you sure do owe me a video

I did use FluidXP in the Gemini Project. It seems to be a decent product though somewhat costly.

oooh.... more color-changing things! Sweeeeet.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks Bro.

mmmm....meh.... I'm still kinda-sorta on the fence on this one. I worked in secret for about a month hoping for something that simply was not to be.

But... I do agree in that the subtley is rather nice.

Ya... we have an expensive hobby...

...I once had a choice: Wife and Children... or Toys...

...I chose the latter.
