Well last night was a disaster....lol
I started to fill the loops last night and immediately ran into problems... First the GPU res started leaking, so I scurried to get the leak stopped and the water cleadned up. Right after I was finished I stopped to light a cigarette and I heard the distinct sound of water dripping so I began to investigate more. My apogee was leaking and dripping down the HR-05 onto the X1900XT and just as I noticed that I saw a puddle of coolant below the video card and on the Audigy.... I was not happy to say the least. I got all of the coolant cleaned and tubing tightened up so I figured I would bleed the loop....another bad idea. I plugged in the pump PSU and hit the switch and the PSU would come on for a second then cut out, this repeated about 6 times before I shut it down and realized I wired the switch incorrectly and killed the PSU..... So now I need to find a new PSU, re-mod it, and install it.

Well, looks like my leak caused more problems than I first thought
Turns out I killed not only my X1900XT but also the IP35-E..... so unfortunately my project is on hold until the new parts arrive. I ordered an 8800GT to replace the X1900XT but I likely won't receive it until sometime in December..... It did run for a about an hour before it kicked the bucket and temps were impossibly low. Anyone have an idea on why my temps are being reported so low??? ![]()

Hey man the temps are based on the eleterical difference of two metals an impurity like coolant could effect that electrical diference giving you a false low (as low is based on less resistance I believe).
Have you tried Electrical parts cleaner? I have had mixed results with that. Blast all the slots and removed all the Chip sinks etc and hose down the area with the CRC Contact cleaner or Electrical Motor cleaner and let it dry fro at least a day. The stuff is toxic so do it outside if you can. It's a lot of work...but you might salvage the gear. I did that to a GFX card that shorted and it brought it back.

thanks CD, it is the vision that is carrying me through this. And to be honest, this case is freaking sexy lol
So far through this project I've managed to kill: X1900XT IP35-E cheap PSU possibly my Audigy 2 ZS lol Positive note though it did provide the oppurtunity to buy a new video card, which I was planning to do anyway and with Ballistix on blue light special, I picked up some new RAM too. And the new E6850 was doing fantastic before the motherboard kicked the bucket. Oh well, the new motherboard for my HTPC should be here tomorrow and since I was planning on modding that case too (am I obsessed??? lol) I may just fire it up on a box and use that until all my new parts arrive and I can finish [i]this/I] project lol

CD - Thanks for the tip! The motherboard is a lost cause though I believe because I tried to get it to boot with the Celeron 420 from my HTPC and it was still a no go. I'm just hoping when the motherboard went it didn't take the CPU with it.
In fact, in the last few minutes before it gave up the ghost it hard locked in Windows so I restarted it and it took several tries to get it to POST. When it finally did POST I got into the BIOS and started changing the settings and then it hard locked in the BIOS and wouldn't boot after that. I've used electronics cleaner a lot, and you're right that stuff is pretty nasty. I usually go for the quick dry type which doesn't seem to be as bad (methanol based I think?) I did get the X1900XT to be recognized but with a very distorted/jumbled image. Quote:
