I really like the mesh and idea and the designs. Make sure that you paint the inside of the case, that will make a big difference in how it looks.

I like your design. I agree with Ice Owl about working with the existing doors someway. Unless you are really tied to that extremely angular look, the fornt doors could add something of a curve to the look. You could fill the doors to make them smooth and use puffy mesh inserts with hard angles on them to keep with the otherwise rectilinear look.
Gotta love transforming work into play Server case mods rock.Oh...how about a hinge on the side panel so you can swing it open and admire your interior? Gas struts ?

If you are still in the market for comments on your design...
Since you are cutting your own openings, perhaps a fractal-type of pattern that is either matched on adjacent sides that are visible at the same time, or maybe abstract opposite patterns.... something that would be subtley appealing to the mind without being overly obtrusive. I already like your design and your ideas - original and well represented by your sketches. Consider me "subscribed".

Thanks to all who have commented. I have made good progress so far. I did decide to mod the original doors themselves and looks good and was much easier. I also got all three icages in place. Cut the side window out. Cut up mobo tray for wire management. Still lots of work to do though.
I can’t wait to post the pics so everyone can comment on the progress so far but I am waiting till I get back to school and have high speed internet because this dial-up is killing me. Thanks agian

Here is the much anticipated update. So without further ado.
Case stripped and ready to mod ![]() Next 2 pics show the welding job for the custom icage holder and the holes for cable managment ![]() ![]() Now with the icages in place and holes drilled to secure them ![]() ![]() ![]() Side window cut out I fixed th over cut by welding it back together and also smoothed out the cuts with a grinder but i gues i didn't take an after picture. ![]() ![]() ![]() Front panel: These are just the rough cuts, I will be sanding the corners round so they look good. Note: the mesh was much easier to form than I had expercted ![]() ![]() ![]() Full views of case “set together” ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking and all comments are welcome and needed.
