I wanted to implement this piece of aluminum into the build
so I sat down and thought it out and here is what I came up with. I could use it for the control panel under the flip up and flip down panels, it would also get light from the acrylic corners for seeing in the dark. The bottom one would house the double USB and front audio.![]() if you are wondering what the Rondec is, it is the 2"wide rounded aluminum here ![]() The decorative aluminum is pictured here with the control panel since I have to fill the gap between the control panel and the dvd drive.

Drafting-like penmanship as well. Methinks this will be one stellar case-project.

Nice sketches
__________________you might find Autodesk Inventor helpful if you plan on doing your thing on computer, it's really simplified autocad with very easy tutorial, you can easily create a 3D model in there. Now of course it only applies if you either already have it or willing to aquire it through illegal means

I've been thinking there has to be a source for sluminum extrusions that would work well for a techstation: some sort of interlocking parts so no Rivets/NutsnBolts
Keep rolling!

I did a mock up of the inner chassis hereby to be called the inner sanctum. The side panel is off a Centurion 5 just to show you what a huge case this is going to be.
![]() ![]() ![]() Note how the bottom 3/4" angle is positioned in the picture below, the drawer slides will go under it. The slides doubled up have a total travel of 26" to slide the outer shell forward. The psu's are just for mock up but note the blower fan to supply air in between. ![]() I still need to get the 2 floors cut 1 will be above the psu's and the other above the mobo. each compartment will get their own 120mm fan for intake. The mobo compartment will get a 120 exhaust. ![]() v I decided to use this rectangle piece to mount the power switches and controls in stead of 3/4" angle it looks a lot cleaner even though the control panel will cover it up.this piece will be shortened and moved up to the top. Being a boxed piece it will also help out with wire management. ![]() ![]() the back panel will need to be trimmed, I will get Hawk sheet metal to trim it up and cut the floors. ![]() ![]() ![]() Hey Cyberdruid I think I found your extrusions they call it tape......Sorry I just had to.
