![]() Real simple, HDD>Rubber/plastic washer>Scythe "bumper">NO METAL BRACER ![]() Dang, things feels like a stiff shock absorber. I know this is gonna cut down "hugely" on vibrations. Happy as hale ![]() Mounts and clears the fan/mobo. No drilling needed to mount. (I'll try and take some pics to make it clearer) Now my goal was not to kill the vibrations and noise. (I'm 61, and all those years of playing air guitar with the sound system cranked up have taken their toll. I may have a slight HF hearing loss.) ![]() I wanted to get as much "air" as possible around the HDDs and get rid of those cages. Plus I thought it looked kewl and l337. PSU and graphics card for the Maximus Extreme will be here this weekend. t-ski phatened me up with a great deal on some Black locking SATA cables. Just sent more MNPCTech rubber feet to Rado for the RadoBase2. He's hoping to get them finished in the next two to three weeks. So I'm like pumped that it is finally all coming together. What started out as a case upgrade has ended up as three killer rigs. (Well, certainly killer for me) Try the Scythe mounting as I described. CyberDruid and Frozen CPU usually have them in stock at a good price. Do yourself a favor if you have more than one HDD and order sets for them. It's the shipping that kills ya.

For example, today's a cool day here in FL so without the case side, running Folding@Home multi-core, temps were ~48C. I put the side on a few minutes ago to give temps a chance to stabilize before I replied to you and they've jumped up to ~62C. It's just with this Lian-Li case I have, I only have 3-80mm fans so there's just not a lot of potential for airflow. Looking at the Zalman I had thought that the way it pretty much lines up with the back outflow fan that it would tend to push air out the back nicely, even more so than the Thermalright SI-128 but I actually got cooler side-on temps with the Thermalright. Go figger

Happy Birthday, my good friend.
Are you going back to La Quinta for another painting spree?I like the HDD mounting idea SoundX, and have told you that before. My bigger question is what sort of fan configuration will you use in front? If you don't have the cages, then you don't have anywhere to mount the fans. What ya doin' for coolin' instead? Also, is that Everest that gives you the uber-ton-o-data along the right side of your screen? I think I could use that. Did I read that right? Radobases? I'm so flattered that you're giving me one, I really don't know what to say.

You can just mount the drive vents to the 5.25" bay tower. I'll take a pic for ya. I now have two Antec 900s and two Matrix Orbitals so I'll need two RadoBases ![]() Remember, the instructions and drawings are posted in this thread if you have the skill an the tools. Still exploring ideas for the 2nd Antec but I'll be using the same HDD, fan, and window mounting mods. Trying to figure out what ideas to steal from you two ![]() 61 years young on April 16th. Dudes and Dudettes, these Ultra PSUs are simply gorgeous.
I hope someone else jumped on the deal cause at $49.90 each (free freight) and a lifetime warranty these are going to be tough to beat. I can't find any Ultra PSUs on the website tonight so I'd bet there was a partying of ways and this was a one time blowout. They have that shiny (oo look, Shiny) look with a dark gray "titanium" finish. 19" ATX 24-pin lead, 4-pin and 8-pin EBS, 24" (8x) 4-pin molex and 2x floppy, 2 SATA cables with 2x connectors each for a total of 4. 36A on the single 12v rail. 130mm fan to keep it cool. (And the fan grill and screws are recessed, very nice touch) And it might be the best black weave sleeving job I have ever seen. And I mean freakin' ever! Just gorgeous. Almost afraid to turn it on I'm so pleased. ![]() One PSU was supposed to be a spare but I dunno. May have to start another build ![]() The Reviews: SPCR - http://www.silentpcreview.com/article708-page1.html Jonny Guru - http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php...=Story&reid=29 PCPER - http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=347 Tweak News - http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/ult..._power_supply/

Happy birthday soundx98! (late, I know) Once again, thanks for your continued efforts to build and document the building of some of the best Antec Nine Hundred modding I've seen to date. I've finally given in, I've ordered 3 lots of the Scythe Stabilizer II's! After seeing your washer mod, that finally convinced me and they'll be coming this Saturday.
__________________I know I have at least 8 washers I could potentially use, left over from Hiper fans that come with them to stop vibration, but I went all out on that and got some Acoustifan silicone bracers, much better results. But I may have to make the last 4 washers, or commandeer them from another machine. (I have too many Hiper fans...)I may well even start my own thread, the number of mods I've done to my Nine Hundred are probably well into double figures now, most of it very subtle, I'm too scared to take the great leaps you've had with yours. I've been striving for as quiet a machine as possible yet still able to give Crysis a good bashing and I know a lot of other people have Antec Nine Hundreds that they'd like to quieten down, so maybe some of the things I've tried will help others.
