Looking good there, Carl! +Rep for the detail in your thread, especially the spray painting work in La Quinta's parking lot.

The amount of information I am getting with the LCDC Everest Plug-In is just sick

Reading the Memory Timings from the Everest Plug-in Hard Drive Info from the MBM5 Plug-In

Some of you may now that I am a bit if of a geek when it comes to monitoring utilities

I'll be adding two of the Dallas DS18S20 High Precision One-Wire Digital Thermometers.

Gonna be sleeving them Blue to match the color scheme.
They plug right into the Matrix Orbital display (haven't decided which one) and are available from on-line sites or www.matrixorbital.com for $9.85 each.

DS18S20 PDF http://premium1.uploadit.org/soundx98//DS18S20.pdf

They have an accuracy of +/- 0.5 C from -10 C to +85C and the ability to measure temps from -55 to +125C and convert the temperature within 750ms.

Yet more wires to fit in but I'd like to look at logging both the PWMIC Heatsinks AND the PWMIC itself under idle and load conditions..
I've convinced myself that the PWMIC sensor is in a poor position for accurate PWMIC temp measurements since it is so close to the CPU.
It's also nice to have two free mounting probes to check for hot spots within the case as well as components on the board.
I mean I know where they are but I'd like to know the actual temps

Hopefully I can get another 4-6 months out of the DFI 939 (Jebus, what a great run) and then afford the CPU/mobo/Ram upgrade.
Certainly an 8800GT or a Radeon 3800 is planned for a little sooner than that.

So rado and I were chatting:

radodrill: dude, dude, I thought of something!

soundx98: <swigs Geritol and goes back to his Special K (for regularity) cereal>
What's up Pilgrim?

radodrill: We need to come up with a unique connector for the LEDs.
I say we take a PCI bracket with a DB-9 connector or something.
Then we terminate the MO cable to it on the inside.
And then terminate the LEDs coming off the "radobase" so it plugs right into the PCI bracket.
That way you can run the cable under the motherboard.

soundx98: wooooo, I like that.<puts on sleeveless cardigan sweater to ward off the winter chill>

radodrill: I could hear the grunting as you put on that sleeveless cardigan sweater from the other side of the country.
What about mounting the HDD LED?

soundx98: I had a dream last night.

radodrill: About how to mount the LED?

soundx98: No, I was at an orgy with a lot of nekid women. Just great though.
But, I have been thinking about the HDD LED.

How about a piece of plexi about 65mm W x 55mm H that we mount between the graphics card and the Hauppage 1600 Tuner card.
We bring the HDD LED off the mobo and into the plexi.
It will be recessed about 2 inches from the AcrylMirror Panel 2 and 4 inches off the mobo so it should "pulse" real sweet near the center of the case and window.

radodrill: It would be a great place to have a logo or symbol etched in.
I like that idea Carl.

soundx98: I gotta go, my mom is calling.

A "bit" of a geek? Carl, who are you kidding? You're leadin' the whole Nerd Herd! (a compliment, not an insult)

I'm sorry, but adding more cables the Antec900 case is just wrong. WRONG, I tell ya! I do agree that it is uber-cool, but just how precise do you need your temperatures? Maybe its the practical side of me talkin'...I dunno.

Glad my goofiness is being well received

So I got the Dallas One-wire thermal probes all sleeved in blue. (a breeze)
Radodrill was kind enough offer some sleeving.

And finally stopped procrastinating and added 6 inches to the Power, Reset, and HDD leads.
As Run N. Gun said, it's hard to believe that Antec made these so short.
Did they extend them at all in V3 of the 900?
Or just add the cable management holes?
I'll need to change the HDD LED again in a month anyways.

Just chopped it in the middle.
You can see the 3 LEDs at the bottom that I am using to set "Events" sequence(strobe, On, flashing etc.) in LCDC.
These will be embedded in the rear of each of the 3 sections of the "radobase".
But for now I can see the LEDs working correctly through the Mirror Panel as I program them.

And here is a shot of them plugged in with all the wire hidden behind the mobo.

And I was at Microcenter yesterday (12-05-2007) and they had lots of the Antec 900s (not sure if they are the latest version).
Sale price was $59.95 after a $20 MIR.
Hale of a deal, almost bought another one.

Thought I'd throw up a pic of my oldest son, Lukas.
He's on his way down to Miami for a fight this weekend (UFC, 3-0).
(and yes, my kid CAN beat up your kid)
