The case is setup in such a way that you can't mount fans by themselves, you need to use their brackets. That rules out cutting the extra mesh out.

As much as I would like to paint it, its too late in the game. I would have to take apart everything again. I tell you what though, next time I do a big system upgrade I'll paint it.

Similar style light bezel as the switch bezels, nice. Good luck on the switches, if it were me I would just test them out using a 5v line and a fan or led but thats me.
