Default [COMPLETE] WC Viper (all pics and benchies up and good to go)

FINAL pics (where it ends)

innards

I have decided to take my antec 900 cooling to the next level and make it even more amazing.

heres what i have to work with:
Case: Antec 900 (custom mods: cable mgmt, custom paint and UV) -> COSMOS S RC1100
Mobo: Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus -> EVGA 780i
CPU: Intel E6750 2.66GHz -> Intel Q6600 2.40Ghz
Memory: 2 x 1GB Patriot Extreme Performance PC2-6400 -> 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix Memory PC2-8500
Memory Cooler: OCZ XTC (modded blue lights to red)
PSU: PC Power & Cooling 750 Quad
Video: XFX 8800GT +XFX 8800GT = SLI 8800GT
HDD1: Raptor 36GB 10K RPM SATA II -> Raptor X 150GB
HDD2: Samsung Spinpoint 500GB SATA II
HDD3: WD Caviar 320GB SATA
HDD4: WD Caviar 320GB SATA
DVD Burner: Samsung 18x DVD+R
OS: Vista Business 64-bit -> 32-bit
Radiator1: Danger Den Black Ice GT Stealth 240 X-Flow -> DD Black Ice Extreme III
Radiator 2 : HWlabs GTS 240
Radiator 3 : HWlabs GTS 120
Pump: Swiftech MCP-655-B -> 3x DDC3.2 w/XSPC REStops and 1x DDC3.2 w/XSPC DDC top
Tubing: Tygon 1/2" ID 3/4" OD and Silver Tygon 1/2"ID 3/4"OD
Reservoir: EK-MultiOption 4 Port RES 250 Rev. 2 -> Swiftech Micro-res
Water blocks:
CPU: Danger Den TDX LGA775 -> D-tek FuZion
GPU1: EK-FC88GT (8800GT full cover block)
GPU2: EK-FC88GT (8800GT full cover block)
NB: EK 780i NB WB

I originally spray painted this case black but never applied primer and the paint chipped more than i wanted so i decided to do the whole thing all over again with style. I am going to sand down the whole case, do the cable management mod on the case. My fiancee's friend does air brushing for bikes and stuff so my fiancee is getting a viper done on the blank side of the case and a viper like thing on the other side.(This is going to be probably end of the month cuz i gotta get the money together for it but im getting a pretty big discount for it)

Well anyways here are some pics(this is all the work i did last night):

I started the project before I decided to make it a work log this is where i am at right now in between sanding and measuring where the zip tie holes will go.

MY CPU Water Block

MY GPU Water Block (EK-FC88GT)

Danger Den Black Ice GT Stealth 240 X-Flow

MCP655-B

now some of the mods ive done already:
I took the blue fans I got with the antec 900 and I had some red 3mm LEDs and UV LEDs sitting around so i soldered them in.

Original

UV ( doesnt really look like it but it is UV )

Red

Then after i did that i looked at my OCZ XTC memory cooler and i thought it would be completly wrong if i just removed the lights. Took some of the surface mount LEDs i had sitting around from my PSP modding days and replaced em heres the pics:

installed

I also took the fan grill off the back because it was coming in the way of the radbox which i am using to mount the radiator on the back.

Looks great. I'm very interested to see how this turns out. I'm considering WC'ing my 900 at some point in the future.

Glad to see you're going to invest the time in painting the case right! You'll be very happy with the results. What colors are you going to use?

Looks good, get some spray on paint stripper for around rivets and nooks and crannies. It will save you a lot of time as sanding can be very time consuming.

I'm going with red and black... I use to have the XG viper case and use to love all the designs on it but the cooling in the case sucked so kinda mixing the two

Hey everyone,
I am his fiancee, on his account of course, and I will be HOPEFULLY posting pictures of this airbrush design when it is done, most likely before he gets back from his travels. If you look it up online, the XG Viper case, you will see what I am striving for, but there might be a few changes.

Let me, or him, know what you think...of course the viper he wants would be in black and red...and maybe look like it is popping out of the case...having a steel looking hole ripped into the case (like the car has it coming out?)

Default Update - 18/12/2007

Well I am back...been working hard between finals and this and trying to get this done. The whole sanding to remove the old paint was taking too long so i listened to ice_owl and went out and got paint stripper. ice_owl THANK YOU!! you saved me like forever with all the paint removal . Here are a few things that I have done I have one last hole to cut and sand that down and then im ready to primer and then paint.

The paint stripper I found was this one and it worked pretty well.

the hard drive bays sanded down just need to sand a little more to prep it for primer

Motherboard tray:

before sanding

after first go at sanding

done sanding ready for primer

Back side of the mother board tray:

This back has the paint stripper on it right now

after the paint stripper is done (thanks again ice_owl)

next up the case:

paint stripper on it

paint stripper is off and this is ready to be sanded for primer prep

sanded and ready for primer

diff. angle

well I have found out that I LOVE USPS because they deliver in my area on sundays for free without extra charges and because of that i got my danger den red and black fill port on sunday when it was shipped out on friday rather than tuesday

Danger Den fill port the idea for this came out of no where but I LOVED IT!

I wanted to place the fill port so i can easily hide it but at the same it its not an inconveniance to fill it up. this is what i decided on

The "MP3" tray was the perfect place to place my fill port.

my tool to make the hole for the fill port

prepped and ready to drill

the hole is MADE!!!

the fill port inserted

forgot to measure the bottom that connects to the plastic

gotta cut the metal part to fix my mistake

measured and ready to cut

done the cut and fits perfectly

and perfectly hidden nice gotta love it

thats all for today ill probably have another update tonight or tomm morning

I like where you hid the fill port, just one quick question... I assume it's easily removable for draining your loop?

For now in my plans the reservoir is being kept outside i dont have enough space inside for it. So with the reservoir outside i can drain from there but i like having a fill port and i love this idea of mine

Default Update - 19/12/2007

Well the one last hole turned into two made one where the front port wires will go through and made a hole above the 120mm fan in the back for the tubing to go through. after that I sanded it all with 400 grit paper and then primered the hard drive cages and the case. Here are a few pictures:

front port wire hole planned and ready to cut

cut and good to go

tubing hole in the back prepped and ready to cut

didnt cut it as well as i could so it kinda came out loppy but it should work

put some spline cut with an X-acto knife (idea taken from Run N. Gun )

prepped and ready to primer(I left the black on the top because That will be covered with the plastic top anyways)

primered I

primered II

Hard Drive cage primered

thats all for now but I should have more by the end of the day today.
