The final lap.

These are the last 2 hardware components to be mounted, the Crossblower is a Gemini salvage and will be used as the exhaust. I blame the bad paint job on the Lian Li backplate on inclement weather.

One of the inadvertant errors that I made in the Gemini project was the orientation of the blower. Because the mounting holes are not centered on the mounting flange, the mounting holes do not line up on the blower and the panel when the blower is flipped over. This meant that the exhaust was being blown downward... no good. This time I got it right.





The rear panels:



Polishing is always a very engaging task....



Using the grinder and a muslin wheel is great, but these angles and pieces precluded the use of that tool.... time to break out the Dremel and the snading block; a 1" square rod with sandpaper taped around it.

After a fair amount of sanding and caressing I was able to finish the inner edges of the rear panels. Here is the PSU panel:

Just to make certain I did a test-fit for the rear panel components.




Again... a BIG "Thank you" to CyberDruid for parting with the Lian Li backplane. Yes, "thank you, thank you, thank you..."

heh... I was just informed via PM that the backplane is a Silverstone, not a Lian Li. Thanks for the discretion and not slamming me for my "duh!-ness"... but I guess this edit did just that. -lol.
