They appear to be Bill Owen creations available from MNPCtech.com But Looks like Syrillian has a black metal mesh filter behind the honeycomb acrylic grill...nice detail...

Indeed CyberDruid has the discerning eye in answering your question, marcus. They are the acrylic grills that CD mentioned. I purchased them some time ago, but had axed them from the build that was on the bench at the time.

Additionally there are grills behind them. They (the acrylic guards) provide a rather appealing look, but do not protect from airborne cat hair... of which I have a lot. The secondary grill stops all the cat hair from getting into the case and are readily vacuumed clean.

You may also have noticed a small lip where the vertical walls on the motherboard module meet, this was intentional. Capillary bonding without pins doesn't travel far, and since this was a major load-bearing bond, I needed it to be very strong. The lip allowed bonding from both sides.

The last hurdle will be to cut and fabricate the rear panel.... my least favorite part of the entire custom case-building process as one only gets one shot....

Did a little work today.

I finished both HDD doors, mounted the fans and the controllers, then finished off the cold-cathode lighting.




I modded the molex connector for the cc inverter to be a 3-pin plug, now I can plug it directly to the mobo. 2 of the 3 sets of blue cc tubes are powered this way, the 3rd is still molex.

I also took measurements for the rear PSU panel using a pair of calipers.... best tool for "winging it" when building.



...No CAD skillz? NP... calipers will save the day. I haz no CAD skillz... ...but I have calipers...

...and here is the keystone. This... this may not look like much, but I can assure you that it is one of the most highly coveted items that a modder can acquire.

...and such speedy service. Wow! That was really fast. The Egg ain't got nothin' on ya.

Tomorrow I will bond the spars, finish measuring the rear panel for the backplate, and move the case off of the workbench. Then it is time to whip out the Dremel and the router attachment with bits and get busy on the last leg of this build.

Lastly will be the final cable managment and a polish! Yipeee!
