I love that Ultra, the only reason it's not in my computer is because I accidentally loosened one of the fan screws so it makes clicking noises. I'll open it up some time and fix it though.
I still haven't decided between brushed-metal look and paint. If I paint, I'll do black screws, otherwise I'll stick to normal chrome. I'll also probably use philips-head screws all around, in 6-32 (because that just makes everything easier).

I'll possibly migrate my current rig into PRiaGH if I'm unsuccessful at getting some sponsors. When the case starts coming together more, I'll start emailing and calling manufacturers and e-tailers.

edit: This now has over 10,000 views!

Btw blitz, the wire came off of the antenna itself, and I'm not even sure where to solder it to.

what's the best way to clean acrylic with household items?
Is goo-gone safe?

edit: nvm, goo-gone is fine. I'm not sure how to remove these little scratches without a bottle of Novus 2 or something like that. I don't think I need to brake out the Dremel with a felt bit and that reddish-brown stuff, and I don't want to buff "too much" and make it worse than the tiny scratches.
Pictures in a few minutes .

no anticipation posts? darn

May 19
Here I'm lining up the holes. I've already drilled the top three, but I'm realizing that the ones I marked weren't perfect, so I used the [already dead] motherboard.

After I drilled "starts" to all of the holes (to prevent the drill from moving around on the surface), I removed the motherboard and drilled out the holes.

Done!

More tapping, I was scared I would eff up the acrylic.

Lol, color matching?

More tapping, scared of messing up the acrylic again.

What's all this tape from?

I'm glad too! I have a research project but hopefully I'll just keep chugging away at that, and on the case .

Thanks for the, what's the word... not quite encouragement, but not quite prodding ()(... whatever, its between those two words, but its close to encouragement...) everybody .

edit: do you guys think this image size works? I can go to 800x600, or I can stay at this res and just post thumbnail previews in the thread, with links to the high res.
