I have been attempting to build a case entirely out of acrylic. Well, that was never going to work, so I'm using acrylic, aluminum, and some old computer parts.
Now seeking sponsors to get me going on this again. I really want some nice piece of hardware to show off in this, but I've got nothing worthy of such an honor. Color scheme will be picked for/at the request of a major sponsor.

Arg, well my dremel motor burnt out (and one of the brushes is actually stuck inside) so I'm waiting to return it. It actually burnt out a while ago, which, in addition to school, is why I haven't posted here in like a month.

About a week ago I tried to fix a neighbor's computer. I got lucky when they ended up buying a new HP and giving me this:

I will be using this back (probably) as it has 7 expansion slots.

I've never actually seen a pentium 3 like this, it resembles the old AMD processors.

And of course, good old Dell only has one fan in the entire case, which also happens to be a total pain in the arse to get out.

Ok, front, back, top, bottom, and motherboard tray/side panel are now cut, but only the front and back are epoxied to the frame. You may notice that one of the cross-beams is kind of... off. Thats because I was trying to get the snuggest fit for the mobo tray, and I kind of forced it off . Will be fixed by the morning

Made a newer mobo "stencil" and layed out some components.



For the CD drive, I like it at the bottom.

Here is one of the reasons for putting it at the bottom. I've got a plastic window (1/16ish) to put in there and it will be painted or given a brushed look. (if I get a sponsor it will be up to them, I'll start emailing manufacturers and retailers when I need hardware)

I can still put it at the top. I'm not sure what I really want for the case.

An old project that requires better soldering skills than I have (the remote control sort of fell apart, and I can't figure out how to reconnect the antennae)

Practice makes perfect.

I was also experimenting with different drill sizes.
The top three holes are all using a 3/32 bit.
Then, the bottom four go:
o - 3/32"
.o - 7/64"
o - 1/8" (no pilot)
.o - 1/8" w/ 1/16" pilot

The 7/64" worked the best, so that's probably what I'm going to use on the case itself.
