This "project" wasn't really that at all. In all it took about an hour or two to slap together.

I posted it as I have ready many posts about members installing hardware into a case, and then having something not work . It has happened to me.

I have adopted the policy of always configuring hardware and installing software on a testbench, and even doing the inital overclocking at that time as well. Once the system is behaving properly I transplant it to the case.

It just seems to save me a lot of headaches.

A bench like this could be made from a milk-crate, cardboard box or with plywood and dowels.

For habitual tinkerers and obssesed builders it is really rather a boon (imho).

Hi, lastshot.

The shroud is bonded to the vertical support, the fans and the rad sandwich the shroud with pass-through bolts.

It sounds kinda "ghetto-ish" (and it is), but it works quite well and the radiator is solidly mounted.

This design is nearly identical to one that I have been working on for a while. I wanted to mimic a tech station but I wanted it to be special. It looks like you puled it off before I could great job.

You're lucky that I've been procrastinating getting the dust out of my rads.

I took some pics while a cleaned to help show how it is mounted. You can see the 4 metal rods in the first pic. They are secured inside the tech station by a thumbscrew, and as you can see in the second pic, secured inside the shroud with nuts. This keeps the shroud firmly attached to the tech station. It is the tension between the radiator and the fans when mounted with screws that keep them wedged against the shroud.






Pardon the dust, I hadn't finished cleaning yet.
