In my room I actually dont have that much dust. My current case hasn't been cleaned in a/b 2 months and the dust is minimal. I keep it on my desk beside my monitor and the house gets vacuumed usually once a week. So no filters, that and I think it would take away from the turbine effect. You have to be able to look into the fans and into the tower, it just looks cooler than looking in a filter, lmao.

haha

That looks really good. I may have to do something like this on some old cases I have
LMAO, wow, I didnt think of that, it was a blue egg i painted blue hahaha. I'm going to paint the 'egg/nosecone' part the same silver as the case and leave the fins blue.

I got the window taped in while I've been away. Cut the mesh and got it fitted up on the window as well for a vent. Looks really good, I'll have to try and get a shot this weekend. I have spring brak coming up, so hopefully I can get this completed, or at least the hardware in it.

Side note: I lost the other 'egg' i had for the 120mm fan and now i cannot find one the same size again. I might have to break down and go to the hobby store

Weather is awesome outside today in Alabama. Mid 70's with clear skies, that bodes well for me. I'm heading out to do some misc things the case needs.
  • trim PSU hole for psu fan and power plug -> i need to 'round' over the top of the hole so it looks uniform with the fan hole, and a little bit of the power plug hits on the side, have to trim that up. Minor stuff

make support for the PSU. The cheap metal of the psu is making is sag after I removed basically all of the structural support of it,lol. I'm going to whip up some supports to hold it back square.

grind down 80mm hole in case. The first 80mm hole (the one that was originally in the case) has some 'spurs' (for lack of a better word) from where I cut the grill out, have to grind those out.

Locate a nosecone for the 120mm fan + paint them. I still have to find that missing 'nose cone' (ie-egg,LOL) and get in on there. Plus I want to paint them the same silver as the case.

paint interior. Maybe, just MAYBE if I get the other done, I plan on putting some color on the inside. I think I've decided on flat black. It will show off the circuitry boards as well as give the lighting a more contrasted effect I think. *shrugs* we'll see.

***Window***
Just so you can have a few new pics to look at while I'm working, I have the window installed. Finished it up this week while the site was down (man that was horrible wasnt it?! no OCN on teh interweb, I was hurting!)

Got the mesh taped in. FYI, the tape I thought was clear, but its white :/ I suppose it will do though, if it keeps bugging me I'll change it,lol.

Plexi is officially ON! (And a nice shot of my fav website )

That square thing on the bottom right section is the reflection of the air vent in my ceiling, its not actually on the window, lmao.

I'm glad you said that or I would have commented on that weird looking vent in the perspex.
That large mesh vent looks really cool....great for ventilation too.

Lol, yea when I was uploading the pics I looked and was wondering what the heck it was. I figured most of us would make the same mistake I did looking at it, and I KNEW I didnt have a vent right there!

Progress!! I'm having to re-tool the brace for the psu, and my drill is dead, so that will come later this week I suppose. I did however get the back of the psu hole rounded and cut (still need to file it down and spot in some scratches in the paint, but all is well. Also got the nosecone on the 120mm, and painted both fans. And got some flat black in the interior. I'm dying to install some hardware in this and see how it looks

That silver nosecone looks really awesome. You'll see in later pics

Dang those rhoebus LEDs are bright. Has anyone put a resistor on them to dim them? I'm HIGHLY considering it.

Next I dropped in the psu and took some shots outside, just b/c the outdoor light is much better = better pics.

The PSu matches now. I still have to reshoot some color on the back after filing the edge, but its coming along.

I want to take time to say that the &^%#$ 120mm fan is lop-sided. The whole fan/fin assembly. I noticed it, at first I thought I had the nosepiece offsides, but the whole fan has a slight misalignment. I'll have to take the nose back off and try to readjust, this will bug me as long as I own the d/-\mn thing if i dont. *sigh*

I think that black will look awesome when I can get the lighting in there. Some blue + UV will look awesome.

Just a fun shot,lol.
