Mini update (just so ya'll wont forget a/b me! lmao)
Got the panels stripped off the case yesterday after getting home and shot some clear coat on one of the cd bay covers. I just wanted to make sure the clear I bought would not mess up the color coat.

Depending on the paint you get, clear coat will 'bust' (ie-crack and peel) or become 'hazy' or 'milky' (very white and cloudy looking) so I wanted to try a small panel first, that way if it ruined it I could easily re-shoot the metallic. After two wet coats and all evening/night of drying it looks great. A nice wet glossy shine. So this week I'll prep all the panels and get some clear on them!

Also, MSI board should be on my doorstep today or tomorrow, I LOVE getting boxes!!

And just what is wrong with 2º C? That is beautiful weather!

Right now, it is -4º C with sporadic bouts of flurries.

I miss when it was -17º C outside, that was pretty cool. Especially with the -40º wind chills.

(No, I refuse to apologize for that pun.)

That pun was baaad! booooo, lol. Man I hate cold weather, never liked it. I couldnt live in NY, not at all. Lol, if it justifies me any we have cold/damp winters. The humidity here is always ridiculous, last summer it was 105F+ with 90% humidity

Yeah, I cannot tolerate heat. Not one bit.

And New York does not get cold. Do not believe me? Ask someone from Minnesota...

Hottest I have ever lived through was about 101º F (38.3º C) with 75% humidity. That was both a fluke and when I was on Long Island. Buffalo is generally warmer than Long Island (mid-90s in the summer instead of mid-80s) but less humid (mid-50s instead of mid-90s).

Well fellows I have bad news....and I have good news...
The bad news first.

I put a coat of clear on the front bezel and top panel for the case this evening when I got home. Horrible results. The top panel is streaky (ie- you can see the lines where i passed the spray can across it in the metallic) and the bezel has a bad spot where the metallic busted in the clear (to say it simple). I was afraid of that, you generally have the same problems occasionally on cars as well with high-metallic flake paints. I'll have to scuff the top and bezel and mist some color coat back over them and re-clear them. I'm hoping I have enough color coat left, it was $7 for the can and honestly I dont want to spend that much for another can to simply respray a patch on the bezel.

Ok, so on the opposite end of the spectrum we did have good news today.

BOXES!!!!

Thanks to whe3ls for this mobo. I know its not P5K deluxe or anything, but its my first aftermarket 'real' mobo and Im proud dangit! I think it will serve for a great starter mobo for OC'in and just general use (im no big gamer ) so I'm excited to get it! Just need a good E2xxx cpu and some ram! And of course get this case done...LOL.

aw man I am sorry to hear that. You know I have never had to much luck with spray can clear coats. They always seem to fog or run easy =/ . Well keep us updated, I can't wait to see what this will look like .

Well its not the clear, its all the metallic under it. Its hard to get an even coat of this paint with the spray nozzle. I dont know how well it shows in the pics but it has ALOT of metal flake in it, so on the big panels you can see the lines in it where I sprayed across it. I think after sanding this clear a little I can mist some flake back over it and have it come out good.
