BOXES!!!
I
LOVE
getting
BOXES!!
Lmao, now that I've got that out of my system. This is what came in the mail today!

Thats the AC Freezer 7 Pro for the cpu from holtzman and some U-channel (and a stick of DDR ram inside the Flip This comp not pictured) from christian_piper.

Now, before I go any further I want to take time to say another big THANK YOU to holtzman. He was leaving on a plane flight saturday and I had no way to paypal him before then. To save me from waiting until this Sunday when he got back to ship the cooler, he mailed it Saturday on good faith to me (I sent him a pic of the MO i filled out). On top of that he shipped it priority and I got it today a full 2 days before I was expecting it (today). holtzman is the best guy ever, I cant say that enough! So once again, THANK YOU holtzman

Opening the box

Size comparison, pretty hefty cooler. At this point I was worried it might be too tall for my case.

Not bad, could use some fine lapping though. We'll see how temps go first.

Test fit of the mobo and AC cooler in the case. I undershot the flat black at the bottom, this board is smaller than my mockup I used.

Ohhh, close cut but it fits!! About 1/4" clearance from the heatpipes to the acrylic.

Oh yea, here are the donor parts my friend gave me. This is 512 (2x256) DDR2 400 and a P4 2.8gHz cpu. Not the best, but this will get my posting and used to playing with the new BIOS settings. Might try to OC the chip a little, and play with the ram too

A P4 and 256MB of RAM? With an ACF7P? Wow, talk about your overkill!

I am curious to see how she does on temps though. That cooler is absolutely MASSIVE.

Its 512 (2x 256) Ram, FOR NOW. That hardware is NOT final! E2180 and at least 1gb of RAM will be coming in the mail soon hopefully.

Again, the P4 and 512mb is NOT FINAL. lol

I am interested to see how temps will be. Im scared to see a TRUE in real life, considering its much more massive than this cooler!

Wow...that RAM is made in the UK....Weird...Nice how cheap parts don't come form china
Nice to see you get some hardware in there. That hardware is about 2x as good as what I used for 7 years prior to my AM2 upgrade (9 months ago) and now my e2180 Upgrade. (no upgrades for 7 yrs then 2 in 8 months - This is what this site has done to me!)

I <3 Arctic Cooling Coolers. I really want one but gotta sell stuff on eBay first. The 64 pro was a beast for its price.

I would advise caution if you install a legit windows xp (or vista) on that hardware. For every part you change, you get a strike against your key's validity.

One of Bill Owens' mods over at MNPCtech.com actually. First time I had ever seen it and just loved it.

"no upgrades for 7 yrs then 2 in 8 months" Lol, yea OCN did the same thing to me! Im not going to Vista for sure. I have XP SP2 Home on my HDD now (my copy/disc/original whatever) and I'm just swapping the HDD onto the new mobo. That shouldnt cause it to go ape-crazy will it? Have not thought about that until you mentioned it.

It may, it may not. You'll have to do a lot of registry updating/cleaning to get it going well though. A clean install is prefered.

I assumed as much anyway going to a new mobo and bios. I'll sort it out. I've reinstalled this OS 3 times currently and its finally stable and how I want it, I really dont want to reinstall it again and risk pissing it off,LMAO.
