Well.....where do I start....

Today began with the GPU being botched. Chocked that up as a loss and went to work on the new hardware. Got everything installed and I have the exact same problem as before. No post, fans come on for the board, no signal to the screen, no bios or post or anything. Im really thinking (after rechecking plugs/connections as well as swapping the ram sticks around and trying only one) that the CPU isnt compatible with the board. Someone had mentioned that in my help thread weeks ago. Thats the only thing I can think of.

Next thing, gave up on that, was too frustrated to bother anymore. Took the HDD out and reinstalled my 478mobo/hardware back into the Flip This case. Decided I would just leave the MSI board and everything in Phoenix, I spent 3 hours getting everything wired nice and clean and d*mmit im not taking it back out.

Powered up the HP rig and.....boot screen hangs up.
After numerous attempts to boot into Windows and trying to repair the install(asked me for the admin acct p/w, I never set one, w t f?) I FINALLY got into safe mode, backed my data up onto my second HDD and restored the system. Luckily that worked and all is well.

I still have a whole new board/ram/all that good stuff that wont post. I guess I'll have to wait till I can get the MOTM prize money and order my E21xx cpu and try again. I guess I'll up some pics of the install tomorrow though. I really dont feel like it now guys, sorry. Lol, its been a horrible day.

It will come together when it's time. Don't let it stress you out. If nothing else, take a step back from this project for a little bit and turn your attention elsewhere for a while.

Yea, I plan on letting it simmer for a few days or so. I finally got a case for the mod comp *evil grin* so I have a new canvas to muse over. I think I'll start on it.

YES!

My new (well to me at least) E2160 got here today! Just installed it and turned it on and FINALLY got a beep and a screen! I have no shut down my Flip This comp (which Im posting from) and get my HDD out and put it into Phoenix and I should be booting up from my dual core!

Man, I cant tell how happy I am to actually get something out of this board finally. Makes me feel alot better,lol. I grabbed some pics real quick of the CPU and getting it put on for some teasers. I'll let you guys look at these while I shut down and reinstall my HDD. Beback soon, hopefully on Phoenix!


My first ever boxed CPU. Im so proud,lol.




Anyone need a 775 cooler?
