Quote:
This project was born after seeing many great modders here (and along the internet) bring an old beige case to life. To make it into a machine like no other, to resurrect it from itself. Thats where this begins. It was a long journey, but the ride is nearing an end. I have to repaint a chip in the bezel but the hardware is now in and posting! Finished pics should be up soon. Thank you for looking and for all the help and support guys!

May 3, 2008
Finally have this finished! (Plus or minus a few little things - wire cabling, touch up paint, etc) I'd like to thank everyone that's contributed ideas, tech support for my occasional n00bness, and just for looking and appreciating the build. It's been a long journey but a fun one. I'll soon be starting another one hopefully (as well as my Case Mod 2008 entry), so be on the look out. Like Syrillian has said, "its not the destination of your trip that matters, its the act of the journey itself"

Ok, so enough talk, and on to the pictures! Enjoy guys!
Before

After!

btw... bentleya did not do those mods... he plagiarised

DE_JA_VOO did them.

If I may be so bold: Since you already have the case broken down it would be a nice detail to paint the inside of the case. This singular and subtle change really alters the appearance.

I'm heading out to the coast for a run.... the perfect time to
  • How about a blowhole?
  • Is there enough room between the outer wall and the backside of the motherboard tray for wires? If so then perhaps cutting some holes for wire-management?
  • If you painted the interior with UV paint it might give the inside that "glowy" look?

Well, wow. Didnt know he plagiarized them. I must have missed that on the forums this week. Well, I'll edit that for sure. At any rate, Im pan on doing them. Now for you list. Yes I am going to paint the case, inside and out. Im just not sure on the color scheme I want. If I want non-uv colors, or if I want to uv the inside with some neon accents. Just not sure. Yes, theres plenty of room for wire management and it will be done as well. You mean a blowhole on the top or on the side panel? There not enough room b/w the PSu and disc drives for one on the top, but I'm open to side panel ideas. Thanks for the input Syrillian, I look forward to what you come up with after your run, lol.

I thought you were going to mod the rear exhaust fan config too!

Be careful what UV paint you use, some sucks and don't work!

I'll be mod'in it to fit two 80mm. In the pics you can see one blue LED one I had put in there to mock up that two would actually fit. With the i/o panel, its pretty impossible to fit anything other than 80's there. But it will get its share of a jigsaw as well, lol. Thanks for the PM btw.

Got the turbine ports bondo'd in. Waiting for it to dry completely before I mock it up on the comp. Looks great, pics should be up soon.
