Please know that I am not trying to rain on your parade.... and what a spectacle it is

...but what these guys have stated is so very, very true.

If you do not plan on messing with the system at all once is up, runnung and stable, then you are Golden.

However, consideration for upgrades, twiddling and swap-outs might be prudent to lower your frustration level in the future.

Either way - this is one killer mod.

Wow, that is some response.. First off i would like to thank everyone for the interest, and kind words. I will try to get to everyones questions/concerns below.


I thought it was good, but not that good.. I can probably make a few wire management covers, but they will require some drilling for install. The sub floor is another story, as i don't have much spare aluminum in that thickness(maybe enough for 1-2). Anything thinner would just be too flimsy. As it is this piece bowed a bit during sanding from the heat.

If you're really interested then drop me a pm, and we can discuss it furter.

That is one idea, but the combination between the cases and motherboards would be endless.

Keep an eye on it as the prices fluctuate a bit. I'm in the market for another one but not for $120 again(tho they're worth every penny).

Well yes, and no. If anything happens to the MB or components on it, I can get it out without that much trouble(I think, or better yet hope). Right now the only problem is the stiff ATX plug. Once I break it up into pairs of 4, it will get softer and should be easier to remove.

If the PSU craps out, then I have to take the loop apart





You're totally right. Majority of the time, beauty(if u wanna call it that), and user friendliness don't mix. Don't get me wrong tho, I have seen a few examples where the pc looked great and was on the user friendly side. It could have been done here too with a little bit more thought, tho I ended up getting the case and had my plan down the same day.. There always is next time.


I was really shooting for just a clean setup, I really didn't think much about servicing it.

Thanks man, I had that res haunting me for a few months. I'm glad I went through with it. the problem with making another one is the end caps. I had a few laying around from an older project so they got reused. I might have two more, but anything past that would have to be milled out.. and I don't have that kind of equipment..yet.



I realizing the service issues more and more. I will have to get on that PSU cable sooner than later, so I can try it all out.

I'm really hope that mothereboard is not DOA, as I never even powered it up. If it is then I might have a headache sooner than later too..

My problem is that i build cases on impulse buys majority of the time there is only a few hours of planning. I will most likely build another one of these case, and that is when there will be more planning.

/me knocks on wood. Last time i ran 3/4" OD tubing that is exactly what happened. All the gear survived, barely tho.

I went to BB today and picked one up for $49,finally a cheap,quality product from BB,who would have thought it!

I cant wait to see the window installed,make sure you have a detailed write up,cause i just ordered a 24"x24" Bronze tinted acrylic sheet,and i have no idea where to start!?

Give it a try, and see if it works out for you. I just looked mine over, and It's not that bad. I will be able to unscrew the res, which will make it possible to remove the panel. Maybe after all I'll be able to swap everything without draining the loop.

The window will be one of the last things that will be done. I didn't even decide on the design yet. As for paint, that's a negative... If i would decide on changing the color one day, it would have to be powder coating.
