I'm just curious as to why you double fanned the underside of the radiator because the fans will be spinning not in exact alignment and wouldn't that block airflow?

I was thinking the same exact thing. If you think about it, the bottom fan would be pushing air up into an already spinning top fan, and a lot of the air would hit the moving propellers.

or the top one might move faster and the push/push mechanism he creates could tear a hole in the universe.

We'd all die.

I think.

Thanks man, appreciate it. I used a Roto-zip with a jig saw type handle clamped into a bench vise. Which ended up functioning like a ghetto router table Works fine for small work like that.

There is no double fans on the radiator. The inner fans are gutted out, and act as shrouds for the outer fans. So in other words it's just a spacer so the actual fan is not right against the rad.

We wouldn't want that...

Small update, and sneak peek at the res.

Got some stuff! Petra's FTW! They got my package across the country in 3 days, and also threw in a few extra feet of free tubing. Not to mention the hand written "Thanks You" note, and a pimp orange pen The collection is growing..

The pen in question. I think Petra's has a spy here.. How else would they know to send me an orange pen to match my board

1/4"-19 BSPP Tap. This was the biggest pain to get. I lost my old tap, and it turns out these are nearly impossible to get in the US...

1.5" OD acrylic tube for the res.

Four 8" long aluminum rods. All drilled, and tapped. The two on the left are cleaned up a bit.

Get the picture? This is a bit of a throwback, but I needed at least one thing totally custom on this case. I hope to have a real update by sometime during the weekend.

This is quite the impulse build!

The custom touches are well concieved and executed. This log definitely just made my over-morning-coffee short list.

Default The Reservoir.. Start to Finish.

The Reservoir
Start to Finish..

The 1.5" acrylic tube from earlier. It arrived with some scuffs, so it started a bit messed up from the beginning.

1/4" thick acrylic for the end caps.

Drilled and tapped for G1/4"

Fits!

The finished end caps.

I used the thicker #16 as it's a bit easier to work with.

Came out decent, seeing as this was my first acrylic reservoir. Regular fitting is the inlet, while the stubbie is for filling/bleeding.

Outlet to pump.

The whole package.

The end caps for the decorative cover... I had to do it this way, so there would be no aluminum in the loop. Original idea was to just tap these end caps and let it be. It's a bit uglier this way, but at least there will be no corrosion.

I also ran them over a belt sander to give them the brushed look.

The 1/2" diameter bars that make up the structure of the res.

Assembled.

Another shot. it should look good filled with orange coolant. Now to leak/pressure test this thing.

Enjoy!
