Allright, well I finally broke down and got myself a new case. I had planned on getting a V2000IIPlus...but I couldn't justify a 230$ case when the Rocketfish Full Tower (Lian Li PC-A71B) could be had for 1/3 the price. So I ran down to Best Buy (okay, I ran down to like 4 Best Buys) and picked it up.
First off: THIS THING IS LIGHT! Shouldn't have been a big surprise, it is alluminum, but I saw the box in BB and thought "Crap, thats going to be fun to get to the car" but then I picked it up and all my worries faded. Its gotta weigh like 13lbs or something. Its amazing. Second: I am really liking the interior. The top is removable via screws instead of rivets which makes life easier. The motherboard tray doesn't have much in the way of cable management ports, but thats an easy enough modification. All in all, the biggest thing going for this case that I am seeing is that its not studded full of rivets like some boxy Slayer fan. Third: NO SIDE WINDOW. I couldn't stand the A900's side window. It was just cheap feeling, and was odd shaped. I am going to be cutting a side window in this case, but I am feeling something professional looking and simple. We'll see where that goes. Now, with all that said, there are a few things I am going to be changing. Motherboard Tray - Isn't removable. Might undertake some sort of mod to change that, don't know yet. Also, as I said, it needs some cable management holes cut in it. Exterior - It's not the most amazing looking outside of a case that I've ever seen. But it is a nice blank slate. I'm feeling some paint, a side window, maybe if I'm feeling artistic I'll do some artwork on the outside, I don't know. Watercooling - It needs some accessability for watercooling done to it. If anyone is familiar with my Antec 900 mod(s) then they know that I am a fan of the Rad-on-top cooling setup. I don't want to try to mount a push-pull GTX360 inside of this case. Its huge, but not that huge. So there will also be some modifications to the top to allow for this. I am also going to be adding a Res to my loop, and placing the T-Line in a better thought out location. As of now, its really difficult to drain my loop, so thats definately going to be in the works. This wont be some groundbreaking, earth shattering xase mod, it will just be a little fix-up, make everything better case mod. But it should be fun regardless! Other than that, I am really liking this case for far. It is huge! I'll get some pictures taken and put up here soon.

Well, I should probably close this thread. I just don't have the patience to take pictures every 3 seconds. I know thats lame, but it just doesn't work for me. I'll get some really good detailed pictures of the major points in it.
And I haven't even started thinking about figuring out how I'm going to do the whole removable motherboard tray part. Maybe rollers? Remove the rivets and replace with like drawer slider things? ...I don't know. Its on the back burner. ![]()

Alright, well I'm going to be painting my case tomorrow (I'll get some pics and post them up then).
I was looking at my 3870 this morning seeing as it was making some noise and I had to take it apart...and I noticed the color scheme. Red, black, and mirror/chrome. So I decided that I would go with that general color layout. My case would be a nice rich red. Maybe like a darker ferrari red. The rad is black, as is my dvdr and other assorted parts obviously. And the side window is going to be a semi-transparent mirror plexi, which I already have, and its cool . Then I'd do the liquid in my loop a cool dark red. Or black if I could figure out how to do it without killing anything . I also have uv reactive red plexi that I'm going to be doing onymarus' (sorry, I can't remember you name exactly!) plexi-gpu mod to. In the end I just hope it turns out cool looking, obviously. Sounds like a decent enough plan? Go with a crossfire themed case.

I'm not so much going "crossfire themed". More of like...stealing the crossfire color pallet.
