Well, i picked amateur because it is my first mod, and initially it wasn't supposed to be very big... then things kind of snowballed.

I also did everything the wrong way at least twice. Some of the panels got repainted 3 times. I had to derivet the case twice because the first time I reassembled it i forgot one small yet important piece...

thanks for the comments everyone

Those little March mag-drive pumps are neat, we use them all the time for little projects at work.
Oops, can't believe i missed your comment. I actually blasted all the steel pieces with normal sand, and all the plastic pieces with crushed glass. You're definitely right though, i love sandblasters, they make painting so much easier.

My dad's an appliance technician, so that pump was actually salvaged out of a broken subzero icemaker .

The aluminum work took an absolutely sickening amount of time. I can definitely see how some people make a living just polishing metals.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet....!

Thanks for a very entertaining romp through your mod... I lol'd bigtime at "Fun Fact..."

...and the "In the wild" pic is too cool... and if I may add, You have a really nice yard... it looks like "Nvidia-land"... all green and stuff

I can see that you put a lot of time and effort into this project, testimony to this is your masochistic approach to re-painting ...gotta hand it to you though, many others would very well have left well-enough alone. Imho you made the right choice as the paint looks incredible

...and the front doors (did you refer to them as fins?)..very, very nice touch, the amount of time that you put into that alone must have been staggering.

Well done.

+

P.S. did I mention how hawt the paint-job looks?

Thank you very very much. I really appreciate all you comments. I don't know if my approach to the repainting was masochistic though, wouldn't that mean i would have to like it?

I was afraid the fins/front doors would be a little too gawdy, but i lucked out with the paint color, and they turned out fine.

Nice job!

It's been awhile since I've seen the old alum panny fans (Panaflo) used in a case mod I like the fabrication work for the top too!
