Default [First Project!] Revive *56k*

Some of you may have seen my abundance of posts regarding a "Mysterious Beige Box", and you may also have noticed the lack of replies...

So, I will provide pictures!

Yay!

My overall goal is to paint this puppy black, and either:

A) Sell it cheap
or
B) Use it as a server of some kind

This is what I had after I got it. I had to repel the urge to throw her in the trash. Heh heh heh!

Her Skeleton (I will Address the abuse of the I/O Panel in just a second...)

My plan for this ugly little puppy will be to fix the switches, possibly remove the "Power" (Since the power-box was so old, I had to take the switch off the back with it), and fill in the random little holes with fans and lights.

For the love of God, What in the world was TURBO?

Ahh yes, and now for this... You see those little rivet-things on the right? Well, I figured if I had maybe cut away at them for awhile, I could pull them off! Well, The right side didnt come out, and I became so frustrated that I eventually beat the I/O panel into disfigurement.

Its okay...I need to make another one anyways.

Suggestions?

How do I get those crazy rivet-things out easy?

Default ...More...

As you can see here, This is a rivet before I get to it...

This is afterwards, on the backside, after much abuse, scratching, and prying...To no avail

Think I could rig that "Turbo" Switch to act as power?

Best way to get rivets out is to drill them out. Use a drill bit about the size of the rivet head, and just drill it until the head falls off. Looking forward to some progress.

^Thank you.
I feel that "Progress" Is going to hurt. Im trying to think of something innovative to do with the power-supply. I fear im going to have to cut the support-beams if I want to fit a motherboard in there.

You don't know what the Turbo button did?

It overclocked the CPU by 20% with a push of the button.
