Well all that could have gone wrong went wrong today
![]() I started to finish off the monitor mod and I realized that the holes on both the panels that had to be sandwiched together didnt match. I wired the LED's to the base and was just about to finish soldering when I found that I had stuck the base of the monitor to the acrylic base in exactly the opposite orientation of how it was supposed to be done. I managed to break the PCB that holds the brightness and contrast buttons and also the power on/ off switch. The mounting holes were about 3mm off on all sides ![]() In sheer anger and frustration I ripped off all the acrylic and threw it in the trash. I dont know what to do now I will possibly go back to painting the original panel black and using it.-wasted ![]() EDIT : Added Images of the pieces The mounting holes 3mm off on all sides ![]() The holes that didnt match

*walks in the room carrying 2 tumblers and a bottle of Glenfiddich* "Wasted, seems it is time for you to live your name... may I join you?" If I may be so bold: Stop. Leave the flawed pieces in the trash. Breath. Start again if possible (are you able to get more acrylic?). ...after observing your modus operandi over the past 6-7 months I realise that the words above are probably redundant, and are already a habit of yours; getting back up after being knocked to the ground. I know that feeling. *commiserates* *raises tumbler* “Life is truly known only to those who suffer, lose, endure adversity and stumble from defeat to defeat.” ~A.N.

*pulls the chair out for Syr* *takes the tumbler from Syr* *raises tumbler* *gulps it in one go* *looks to Syr for advice* ![]() ![]() It feels so crappy to have put in two weeks of effort into something.. just to be ruined by one stupid measurement.. Well I should have known better ... Yes Syr, I can order more acrylic and work with it.. or I can try and change the mod so that I wont need more acrylic. I am leaving from my night shift early because of a severely strained back, (Both my jobs involve sitting on not-so comfortable chairs for the entire duration of my shift.. and I do this for over 60 hours every week..) I am hoping to get home early get some sleep and think about this tomorrow. I have some 5/8" square acrylic rod lying around. Maybe I can use that *thinking* .....................
