Damn, that is freaking harsh. Don't give up though, the mod is still amazing. All you need is more acrylic.

I've made quite a few serious miscalculations with my build too, I had to cut one piece three times.

Seriously, though. Is this stuff allowed on here? It's basically computer pr0n.

That external enclosure was so damn hot.

Will the Chrome wire looms scratch the acrylic? I think some U-Channel would make those look even better

I ordered the acrylic, I also ordered a vandal resistant switch and some sleeving.

I have decided to totally get rid of all the plastic in the monitor. So this is going to look like some of the other monitor mods out there.. Not really a unique idea but its alright.

I will be doing some painting on this monitor.. I will be using the flakes that marcus used for ultranova.. The flakes were supposed to go into The Clone. but doing it for the monitor will serve as a good template for experimentation before I start painting The Clone.

So the idea is to keep all the metal in the monitor and paint it black..

So here is how it will look. but it will be black...

I have some 5/8" square rod lying around. They will mount to the sides of the frame and hold the 3/16" acrylic sheet that will cover the monitor on the front...

The front sheet will be lighted with some white LED's, The base will be the same sandwich between black and fluorescent blue acrylic. but this time it will only be smaller.

Thanks Sparhawk. Yes I should have known better . I always have a problem with measuring stuff. I had to redo the steps for azure because of my measurements.

Never mind. This time I am more prepared.. We fall only to learn how to pick ourselves up.

Thanks Pap3r. The looms dont really scratch the acrylic. So far I have not noticed anything.. I had some U-channel on hand but it was too rigid to fit in such a tight space..
