aha! insane minds DO think alike cool, the base looks great.

as for the wire things, I hear ya, but no amount of paint would kill the ribbed feel, especially if you used an etching primer, and a couple thin coats of paint (I still think chrome/silver would be epic ). But if paint aint your fancy, then maybe a good sanding to expose the metal luster, like with a low grit to make it look almost industrial roughed up, then drop a couple clear coats on them s-o-b's or some clear metal sealant (as opposed to regular clear whih may not bond) I am not familiar but I am sure they make stuff along these lines, clear coat for metal direct or something

I am gonna hit the hardware store tomorrow. I am looking to get some krylon fusion (Maybe some chrome or silver). If I can find it it'll be great. Tomorrow I plan to sand the monitor chassis and the acrylic pieces.
and hopefully you should see some painting in the next day or two.

@serialtoon post pictures.. I want to see it...

Yehhhh I got the painting done

Rustoleum & Speed painting FTW...

The base...

The monitor chassis

My duster reflecting off the surface of the chassis

I also visited the hardware store today and picked up some Fusion Metallic Shimmer. This is the closest I could get to chrome. The paint is silvery and has a nice shine to it.

I did 2 coats for each of the drain cleaners aka sleeving. The look pretty slick now.

The plan for tomorrow is to sand and polish the acrylic pieces.

Thanks for Looking,
- wasted

dude that all came out great!!
Speed painting FTW! the black looks great

and the stuff you used on the drain-snake, wow! that came out even better than I thought. The fact that its sorta darkish in the creases and brighter on the crests gives it that mean industrial feel I sorta pictured when I threw the idea out there. But it looks even better now that I see it in person

epic win. great work
cant wait to see it all assembled
