I'm not really comfortable with drilling holes in a case as awesome as this, so I'll just secure the reservoirs and pumps to the platforms with some industrial strength velcro I have

Just so we're clear, you meant drill the holes for the pump and res, not actually securing the platform to the case right?

Hiya TnB!

Here is a possiblility for a ledge that will support the pump (one on each side).

These are fairly large, and will be able to accomodate a number of sized-pumps. The DB-1 is clearly not and issue, nor is the D5; but should you ever want to use a larger pump sich as the Eheim 1250, then it will still serve its function.

I went with round to help save space around the outer edges, and lessen the angularity that a rectangular piece had. If you want I can take a pic of a rectangular piece held up to the side so that you can decide which one you like better.





^If you approve of these, I will give the arc(s) a roundover and a polish to match the rest of the case. Also, if you are planning to buy velcro, you may wish to pass... I have some Marine-grade stuff that is absolutely excellent.... only down-side is that it is White, not black. Lemme know if you want enough for a couple of pumps.




Here are the feet/rails that the case will sit on. It is my intention to use the self-adhesive foam on the bottom to give it some padding and to provide some anti-vibration measures to the case itself.









I will wait to hear back from you on the feet/rails and the platforms for the pumps before I go further on those aspects.

I have cut, profiled, sanded and polished all the pieces for the rad shrouds. You will get 2 shrouds for 240 rads, and 1 shroud for a 360 rad.

I have another idea for the standoffs for shrouds; I could use shoulder bolts. I will post pics tomorrow of them. I think that I have the correct diameter of graphite tubing to fit them.




Here is a shot of the HDD rails and the foam. It looks like the foam is not adhered properly to the rails, but it is an optical illusion as the pieces wrap around the radius.

Oh wow, that is looking so good I wouldn't be surprised if you kept it for yourself!

I like the idea of the "half moon" style platforms, it'll give it more...... "oomph" so to speak.

The case feet look awesome as well. Thank you for the update, I added it to the update list.

It was cooler today, so I was able to spend more time on the case than expected.
It's not that I am a wus when it comes to heat.... I love it, but handling black acrylic in the direct sunlight over long periods of time can be a PITA. The panels get really hot. Additionally I don't think it is such a good idea to have the panels expand and contract when working on them... no larf... it happens... for real... Hey! I said no larfing at me. ...okay... fine... larf away.

TnB - cool! the platforms will also have some type of ancillary support from the underside... haven't figured that part out yet.
