Post [Project] Armor Aesthetics Modification

For now this is just a side panel mod, but I do not plan to cease toying with my main rig anytime soon, so updates maywill occur sporadically.

I'm engraving a design onto the useless and boring offside panel of my Thermaltake Armor Case.

The design I finally went with was quite different than the initial planning I did. It is a simplified version of the planned design(see first pic). I chose the simpler form because sometimes keeping this simple is the best way to go... and I couldn't come up with a corner design I liked enough.

I've been using a dremel 400 and the 106 bit.

It has taken two hours of straight dremeling to get about half of the panel done.

-2nd pic is the sketched on finalized version(and one incision because I only just remembered to take pics).
-3rd pic shows my workspace (I couldn't justify buying a $40 stand for the dremel so I used an old lamp).
-4th pic shows the first hour of work.
-5th pic shows the two hour culmination.

[reserved]Tomorrow work will continue and hopefully I will be able to finish it. Trying to keep this mad short and sweet. Although this has been in the works for some time, this is the first weekend in a long time that it has been warm enough to work on anything outside. /heart Canada

hmm, am I going to need to coat it with something after to stave off rust/oxidization?

It's so nice and shiny now is it going to stay that way?

You could try using clear coat, but you would have to use it all over the case...I dunno if it would oxidize without it...

Yeah, it definitely would be. That was one of the ideas that crossed my mind. However, I would need some diamond bits and WAY more time, since the panel is made of 1.0mm SECC Steel. I went through one bit just etching/engraving.
