Jessie's Gumdrop - Day 07 - Back From Paint

There may be finger prints from my ham hands, and some dust, just ignore that, I havent cleaned the parts yet. This is right out of the box from the painter. Well, I'll shut up and let the pics do the talking...



dont mind the dust in the bottom of the case, and there is some slight orange-peel in the mobo pan. Luckily that will be hidden, and its not pervasive throughout the black parts, especially on the back which is most important. Of course I didnt snap a pic

notice how the color can change based on light and angle. They use only PPG and House Of Kolor automotive paints so thats an added effect I wasnt expecting - me likes!

I guzzled a beer while staring at this angle, I think I even caught a hint of wood

lighting change, opened garage door so flash wouldnt fire, note the diff in the hue as compared to the above pic - sick

sorry for the blur, but I thought the contrast was perfect. I think he did really well matching the Gumdrop I was looking for.


All in all I am happy with the pro paint. One thing he didnt do, which I did ask, was to paint the insides of the bezel and drive bay covers (not dvd rom). He painted the inside edges but kinda dusted the rest. Its not a big deal and it definitely wasnt worth it to leave it there. I have to pick up a can of Gumdrop anyway for the feet washers anyway, so worst case I can drop a lil prime on the backfaces and paint it myself. Ill see how it looks before that tho. Overall I think I have to say I am pleased, better than anything I could have done with a rattle-can, especially in the keeping-the-crap-out-of-the-finish-during-drying department.
