The centerpunch makes an indention in the metal. You use it to mark holes, you 'punch' the metal and then you drill in the indention. The indention keeps your drill-bit from 'walking' on you.

Hope that is what you were looking for, lol.

Ok, im caught between being lazy or doing some sanding on the case Should I use a scotchbrite pad on the case innards and 240 on the biege secitions? If not ill have to go to the store, and im feeling, well, lazy lol

That will work fine. Use the 240 as long as you're planning on priming. If not, I'd go with 400.

Nice work so far

Wish I had a case to mod. I'm fresh out, having done them all.
Well, I still have my WindTunnel to do, but no funds laid out for that yet. Lots of plans It was either get my 9800GTX and 4bg of ram, or mod the case.. hehe

I'm curious on the holepunch tho. You say it's adjustable. Is that to the point where it will not effect the surrounding panel? Like if you punch the center of a side panel, will it bend the panel out from the impact, or just leave a small indention without messing it up?

Thanks. The center-punch tends to leave a small sharp point/impression without messing up the surrounding material. You could always place the sheet on a firm surface, but one that gives a bit too, styrofoam comes to mind. A great little tool worth having in the collection imho. This one has an adjustment for the pressure which is what is concerning you. They also have manual ones, or you could use a nail-set with the panel on a firm surface.

new update coming...

Jessie's Gumdrop - Day 03

Today was a late start, and a bit of an ass-dragger so I didnt get too much done. I walked over to the HW store to find that they were closed So I decided to make due with what I had which was basically a mouse sander and a couple of 240 grit pads. First I prepared to scuff up the beige painted parts... (chasis top)

(back panel)

thats my "boat motor" thing that I use to blow off dust. Actually its an air pump to inflate an air-matress. Works a charm to dedust (pun) pc's and etc.

then I went to town on the innards

after some scuffing with 240. Did I go crazy? Anyway I still need to get in there with hands when I get some proper sand paper. Yes I will be using etching primer

I decided to mark off some tentative plans for the case window cut, while sipping a few beers and listening to Stone Temple Pilots...

ok I was bored...

Well that was it for today. Thanks for reading. More updates soon
