do you guys have rivet guns? I feel like I'm the only one without one

Looks good! Sanding metal is a PITA but it's necessary, too bad .

Can't wait to see it painted... thats when the whole thing starts coming together

edit: ooh green, I've been planning a purple/green paint job for a while, but I recently came up with a theme mod instead Purple and green go so well together, most of my cars in video games have that color scheme

Thanks nategr8ns, I know Repo does,but I still have to pick one up - I had no need until today. Sanding of any kind does suck ass - very yes. Emhart makes insane pneumatic ones with auto-reload from a coiled up "clip" haha. like a machine gun for pop rivets @ 30 rounds per minute. Thats overkill for a garage modder imho and the gun is 300+ bucks. Ill probably pick one similar to Repo's. Ive seen the prices start at under 20 bucks. Much more reasonable for a tool I cant see using that much.

the 20$ ones are not pneumatic, they are mechanical
there are electric ones too but I didnt see prices

oh, and when desribing the plans above I forgot a few things

-black annodized speed/thumbs screws for the case panels
-these cool case feet The Black ones
-a third spst on/off switch in the back for a uv lamp
-replacement expansion slot covers sanded/primed/painted in, wait for it, gumdrop

don't you think those feet are a little... expensive? I like MNPC's stuff, but why do they have to charge so darned much? $17 for a push-button? CRAZY!

But I am going to get one, like Rustler said, you can get one like I (borrowed) for ~$20-30.

do you guys prefer rivets or small nuts and bolts/screws?
I think I might try de-riveting and using some small nuts and screws so that I can take it apart any time I want
I don't know if this would work though...

it will work fine until theres a place where the head of the screw is too tall compared to the flatness of the rivit head. you may not be able to put it all back together properly. Only way to know is measure all the spots for head height, and/or derivit and replace with screws and nuts. if any of the screw heads touch anything they arent supposed to you should rerivit.

Nuts and bolts will work but I prefer rivets. Most of the times rivets are in the corners of the panels, just seems like a headache trying to put a nut/bolt there. Unless you have a small socket to fit the nut and an extension so you can hold it.
But I digress, I prefer rivets. How many times do you really think you'd disassemble a case anyway?
