Default [Project] The Wall

Well, as a lot of you must know, the rocketfish is a perfect case for modding. its a blank slate to mold into whatever you wish. From what was supposed to be just a adding a few fans and putting in a window, I'm now planning on making this into another pink floyd case (for who don't know, mnpctech did a "the wall" themed mod before). I'm not going to show the window yet, though it is in another thread here, because the border looks awful, but I will bondo it, and repaint it with a brick pattern.

I got the inspiration for a "the wall" themed mod because I painted the inside of my case red, not thinking of doing anything further at that point, but more brainstorming led me to this idea.

the screaming head will be etched into the window, the hammer will be on the mesh (paint is a crappy image editor, lol...), and the mesh will be backlit with a red cold cathode. The front is as it seems, I will paint the album cover and the hammers onto the front of the case.

Here is the progress so far, mainly just cutting, painting and cable management.

I will also get some u-channel for the cable management holes when i buy the mesh, as well as some case feet as those plastic stubs the rocketfish comes with are pathetic...

Can't promise much progress for a while, as I'm taking summer classes, and I'm going away this weekend for the 4th, but I promise to try to get as much done as possible.

7/2 progress
i have taken off the paint from the panels, sanded them down a bit, and primed them for tomorrow, when they will get a fresh paintjob.

Got a quick question. I plan on getting a ex-33b bay, to house my hard drives in. Therefore, I will not need the hard drive cage on the bottom, and will likely add a fourth intake fan. is it worth getting a middle divider? because it seems superfluous to me, is there some sort of advantage to it that i'm missing? i mean, there won't be anything producing heat down there other than the psu, and it seems extra work to have to create ducts for the intakes.

like the mnpctech case but this one is personal, not the copier. will watch with great interest

as for the divider, not really worth it from a performance stand point. the PSU does make some heat, but i have mostly seen those dividers used for cabling. if your going to rout the cables underneath the motherboard tray, its not with it. if you are not going to, it looks better then having a mass of cables coming out of the bottom.

thanks for the compliment, I wish I could get paint jobs as nice as yours and the rest of the pro modders. here's my latest progress, it hasn't exactly turned out great, but it'll have to do

does anyone know if hardware stores sell dremel cutoff wheels separately? i just want to know before i drive down to home depot, as i would rather not buy a whole accessory kit for one piece...
