That's a great case mod. I really like the progression in the pictures too. If someone has the eye for it they would be able to learn a lot about cabinet making from this log. Good work.

After a liesurely stroll through your submission I find that I am really impressed.... really.... impressed.

The carpentry aspect of your execution is a pleasure to behold, I really like the lap-joint recessed fan filter frames; well done, and beyond the call of duty. It is the unseen details, the elements that most will never see that give anything a person builds its Soul.

Your approach, attention to detail, and final outcome are inspiring. Seeing your ingenuity has provided some solutions to hurdles that I need to overcome; in particular your method of stand-offs for the motherboard.

Goliath is... well.... just that, and although 60lbs is a little hefty it is not unmanageable... Wow! It's a beaut!

The sliding lower tier, and the removable top are excellent design aspects for the bencher, tester or the habitual tinkerer.

Wow, thank you everyone for commenting. I've been helping my sister move and rearranging the home office over the last couple of days and didn't realize that the logs had become public.

@iandh: Hehe, yes, 59lbs. is a bit heavy but I knew it was going to be heavy as hek before I even started the build. Thanks for the praise.

@ Syrillian: You are always too kind and thank you for the comment on the bench plane. Its a German manufacturer (E.C.E.); their tools are simply beautiful (I couldn't laugh at that statement, there just isn't a better word). It has all the great feel of a wood plane with a lingum vitae sole and all the features and adjustability of any modern plane including a unique, patented blade adjustment rear knob for exact corrections.

Tomorrow is a bit busy but I'll make sure to log on in case there are any questions.
