Ok well, here is the latest.

First off, sorry for the complete lack of replies, I have been once again in the hospital, this time for 3 weeks, and was just released yesterday. I had a rather large abdominal abcess which almost killed me and the doctors and nurses have been pumping me full of antibiotics for my entire visit, and even now, via a portable IV system called CADD

http://www.smiths-medical.com/catalo...-pca-pump.html

It just kinda chills on your belt and pumps you full of that stuff you need to live. Anyways, I feel much better, and despite subzero temps, I WILL be getting back to work on this in the very near future (tonight most likely). Time to whip out the portable heater, as my work area is not heated, and get to it! Sick and tired of seeing this case lying around unfinished.

Does bondo freeze? Spraypaint? If so that could be a problem. I suppose I will have to go check. If it did im in a world of trouble lol.

Anyways, thats the drama in my life, glad its finally coming to an end (I hope)

9 days was bad, 3 weeks was horrible.. another day = I go completely and totally insane.

To be done at this point:

Touch up the top IO panel. One side kind of has an overhang which I find distasteful and a horrible display of workmanship. My current goal in life (aside from family, and recovery) is to eliminate that slanted side and make it nice and flat as the other side.

Second, I still have to create my window panel. This one should turn out nicely as I ordered some C-channel from Cyberdruid and its excellent stuff, I think it will give the window a nice professional look. I am thinking of making the window in multiple sections though, as I will be using a leftover piece of acrylic and unfortunately its not large enough to create one large window, any ideas for a simple, yet effective design using roughly half of a mid-tower side panel?

Next up is paint. Unless I discover some new radical color which turns me on, ill be painting this case gloss black. Previous cases have been painted flat black, which is has its advantages, but this machine is going to be my powerhouse server/folding rig, will have an OCed C2D, dominators for ram, some black lights etc, so I want to be able to polish this one up. I think two coats of gloss black followed by gloss clear will do nicely. Opinions please?

Aside from that, its pretty much finished. A few small cable holes left to cut for the motherboard (just came back from RMA, so couldnt line up the cuts properly.. come to think of it, maybe I should test the board, its been in for a few weeks and I havent touched it )

So yeah, check back soon for updates.

In the meantime, please, everyone facepalm for me... its better than get well soon

i won't give ya facepalm

Glad to hear you made it, that sounds horrifying to read, let alone to live.

FYI: Bondo doesn't freeze, but the lower temps will effect the hardening process so you will need to use more hardener/activator. Try a test batch and see how much you need and how much working time it gives you.
