Anyways, might I suggest using a real gun for the bullet holes?

Unfortunately asking for reputation is against the TOS, so your post has been edited

Taking this thread back on topic, I'm loving the work already. Are you using a spray gun to add the blood splatters?

I've seen one of these watercooled before, and the amount of planning required is pretty high, but the result is amazing - there definitely is something about watercooled MATX cases which gives them that "WOW" factor.

eh, I would if I could, but I'm still a student... never handled a gun or even seen one in real life, except at museums...

noone I know has a gun either, so that's probably out of the question... (Maybe go to a range and ask someone? )

it'll be simpler to use a drill, some filing and some mesh

I was going to follow the Bioshock Deco mod step-by-step, but Slaama has removed his videos from YouTube for some reason... so I'll be testing it out on some scrap aluminum first to get the best result. Each bullet hole will be backed with mesh to create a more industrial look and to prevent things from coming in.

edit:

oh and the blood splatter effect is actually quite simple.

I actually googled today trying to find an answer and was directed to this Yahoo! Answers page

I tried xcomebackkids898's response which was to fill the spray paint can cap with spray paint, and then to fling the paint onto the target.

It worked like a charm... however I could've tried using a little less paint in the cap, and a respirator... all the gas' spray directly into the can and end up rising up instantly, and visibly into your face.

edit again:

and thanks Prosser! not really used to a rep system

nope, I don't have a budget at the moment, so I'm trying to get whatever I can that is vital to the project

dust filters should be added at some point since a cable could get into them... and pulling air up fmo the ground would have a lot of dust as well... good idea

but also, I did originally plan to build an undercarriage... however I don't know if I can afford a decent bending brake anytime soon...

Nice - that's an awesome technique, very simple but the effect you came out with is amazing.

I'd love to try that with something like a black and light green theme, similar to your black and red but not quite as gory

No worries about the rep system - welcome onboard, the more modders the better!

heh, thanks so much (and thanks for the rep )

I really do like the blood splatter, it came out much better then I expected!

Originally I had planned to just spray red paint lightly... but then I realized that there are simple ways to do blood splatter!

I will definitely be doing a crazy colored mod in the future once I get some more funds! It would have been cool to do a Peggle themed mod or something... lol

Black and light green do look beautiful though, I personally don't like red too much... but it matched up with the game!
