lol, I know my sig rig isn't much, but thats what'll be in it!
I wish I had money... but the case itself was just over a $100 shipped, the watercooling setup was over a $100, and the PSU was around a $100 as well... so I'm very sparse on cash. Not to mention, the S-Flex's were expensive as well! Hopefully if this mod starts really coming together, I can find some sponsorship... since there is a good chance I will be going to PAX with this because there are only 6 entrants... edit: oh and I do love Nvidia! I've never owned an ATI card before...

I know the student feeling well
![]() Waiting on my wages as I took holiday on Sunday and get paid in cash, and I'm getting pretty desperate - it seems I need everything as soon as I don't have money! =/ Seeing as this isn't your first mod, any chance you could post up some of your other logs to help us get a feel for what your capable of?

heh actually, well it is my first real mod...
technically it is my second, but my first was quite shabby... I didn't really get to where I wanted to with it heres the unfinished worklog for my first mod: the Bruce Lee Tribute mod ![]() I have some finished pictures, but I'm too lazy to upload them ![]() Thise case will definately be a huge step forward from what I did before... Just wait and see heh! The deadline is August 1st after all... only 8 more days for me to finish this baby... which actually makes me worry... I guess I'll have to pull some money from my savings to pay for the lighting and dyes... as well as the acrylic.

lol, CyberDruid is the reason I actually came over here...
![]() I was checking out the long list of builds he has completed, and that happened to be a thread on here, so now I'm here... but meh... a Lian-Li case can never be shot with a real gun... its a sin!

First off, welcome to OCN and thank you for sharing, this looks like it will be a really cool mod. I must admit, a rep is in order for that splatter. The simplicity of the application is awesome, and the result looks killer (cheesy pun intended
)As for your bullet holes. Perhaps a sharp punch and a hammer would work? Or if you have a strong enough drill bit, hammer that onto the panel, this will give you the bullet indentation first. Then you can just drill out the center and viola!

that is a great idea... hammering the drill bit is a great idea, and it'll leave that edging as a bullet would
and thanks for the compliment xD I'll +rep for the bullet idea (er nevermind lol) edit: oh and I'm actually in the process of redoing the entire front panel... it all was slightly askew and was just not working out right... so I'll be doing that all of tommorow

Its finally time for the homestretch... which ironically is 85% of the work! Plus... my personal deadline is Thursday morning! That way I have time to adequately update my Modshop work listing page and take some good looking photos in the perfect lighting...
However... I have a few pictures... luckily, I wasn't just lazing around during the past week/weekend! (well... I was... but... eh...) I actually started some real thinking on the undercarriage and the rest of the case! Plus... I left the front panel in a small container full of paint thinner over the weekend outside my house (covered of course)... it actually worked though... I got 90% of the paint removed by just peeling/rubbing it within 30 minutes, the last 10% took 1-2 hours of scraping with my nail... Now its outside drying from the final coats of paint! It looked spectacular upon inspection! Tomorrow I will either retouch it up with a few more coats (if it isn't up to the project standards) or I will reapply the blood splatter... this time masking the lines! I have decided that I will cutout the weapon cutouts as I had decided before... and I will also etch them with some more intricate designs as was also decided before. However... I am still debating whether to etch them out of opaque black acrylic, transparent red acrylic or just plain black anodized aluminum... its a hard decision! I'll be making at least 1 of a gun from UT3 in all three materials tomorrow (probably the flak cannon) to compare and choose which looks best. I'll post them up here tomorrow once they are complete as well for community input. I have also decided to put a pickup factory cut-out on the bottom of these line of guns (which are in turn, next to the window on the left panel) which will act as if its actually a pickup factory (those things that have the guns hovering over them... the editor calls them pickup factories and I only know them as gun spawners...) The other panel, will feature a similarly spaced/sized opaque black acrylic window (but of course you can't see through it... otherwise you'd just be looking at the back of my motherboard panel...) but it will have various names and companies etched onto it and hopefully back lit (if it will actually light it up, which I hope it will) of the people who have helped me and the places that I frequent to purchase my materials... Current list (In no particular order...): Performance-PCs McMaster-Carr MnpcTech Radodrill Prosser13 CyberDruid MkMods I'll also have my website engraved at the bottom or top, depending on how I set it up. Speaking of people who helped me... I was posting in a seperate thread about how sheet metal gauges to judge how thick metal my new bending brake could bend... and in the process radodrill helped me out with some amazing mech engineer skills and programs to generate the various critical masses and safety factors for the undercarriage to see how thick aluminum I would need and how tall it would have to be for that thickness. The under carriage will be 8.26" wide, 19.3" long and will have 1" sides and will be composed of .040" aluminum! Heres an amazing picture radodrill generated for me! Thank you so much! ![]() You can view our entire discussion here. Finally... here is the new window placed into the bloodied side panel... The reason I changed the window is because the window I got from PPCS was blemished and had a series of hairline fractures that you could see when tilting it in a certain angle in direct light... It was no fault of theirs though! I love that site and all the people that work there... it was probably just the maker of the acrylic which was some company I had never heard of... No... it was not A.C. Ryan! Honestly though... I would have chosen to get transparent black acrylic for this window if I still had the choice... it would better accent the 'blood lines' ... but meh, I'm already way over budget... Oh and here are the first pictures of the items that will be etched/cut-out for the panel. And another final section: (yeah... I know I already said finally) the Feser UV Red dye, A.C. Ryan dual 20CM 'Overboost' UV cathodes and the red EL tape arrived... I'm pretty disappointed with all of those items... The dye looks great without any light... but with it, its not even pink... its orange with a pink tint around the tubing...!? The 'Overboost' cathodes are pitifully dark... what I do like about them is that they don't cast much of a purple glow at all... but that seems to reduce their UV capabilities even though they are touted as the 'brightest' UV cathodes ever... Finally, the EL Tape looks nice, but I don't really see what I was thinking when I bought it... anyone have some good ideas? Finally... the real finally! Here are some updated pictures of my workshop! Checkout the new bending brake as well! 30" of steel! Maximum PC and PC Gamer podcasts are played from this little station 24/7... not to mention an occasional bout of Daft Punk... Also, all my receipts and manuals are stored here. Heres my mini pegboard... If I had any money I would place a big pegboard over my workdesk... but who can afford that? (everyone besides me... lol) Hmm... one more final thing... I just thought this up while formatting this post... I could make some cool lighting effects for the pickup factory cutout... and in fact... all of them? I could buy some standoffs and put them up... then I could drill a spot for a LED behind each of them... then they'd light up with an eerie red glow! Geeze! I'm a genius! (Regrets saying that... lol) EDIT: Oh! And the undercarriage will have dual red cathodes in there to create a 'neon' effect like on cars!
