Out of nowhere I decided to purchase a new case. Well, the new case ended up turning into a new build. And what's a new build without a little modding along the way. I didn't have the heart to drastically change my case (aka cutting/painting), so this one will be a bit tame. My main goal for this project, as suggested by the title, is to have an orange theme, with quality parts. I also picked up a Logitech G15, which coincidentally matches. There are going to be (3) steps to this build.
__________________Step .1. Case/Lighting Cooler Master Cosmos S (with custom acrylic side panel) Replaced all colored LEDs with orange (with the exception of the top panel/power button) ACRyan Overboost UV lights Orange XSPC LCD Display As of now, I have begun preparing the case fans. I have removed the red LED case fan from the front and bought (2) ACRyan 120mm LED fans. They came with UV LEDs in them, so I swapped them out with some orange ones. I also have an OCZ XTC memory cooler, which came equipped with blue SMD LEDs. I swapped them out for some 3mm orange LEDs. I don't want to go overboard with the lights, but once I get my water setup, I will add some LEDs to the rad fans on top of the case. Step .2. Hardware Q6600 DFI X48-T2RS Dark 4GB G.Skill DDR2 1066 PK HIS HD4870 OCZ 700w GameXStream XIGMATEK HDT-S963 CPU cooler (temporary) I am replacing my much beloved 939 DFI Expert/Opty 170 setup for some newer hardware. To keep with the orange theme (and DFI!), I picked up a DFI X48-T2RS Dark series board. The brains behind the setup will be a Q6600. This will be my first Intel build, so I hope the overclocking goes as well as my past experiences. These parts will be arriving this weekend, so i will update pics once installed. I have already acquired the HD4870 and am reusing the OCZ PSU from my last build. Step .3. h2o Apogee GTZ Swiftech MCP655 Swiftech Micro Res Yate Loon 120mm (orange/black) x6 HW Labs Black Ice Xtreme III Radiator 1/2 Tubing The water setup will be a future addition, possibly by September. The parts are not 100% decided. I plan to keep with the theme here by using orange UV water. This will be either a combo of distilled water and Orange highlighters or Orange Fesser. These pics will be updated once that portion is tackled. Pictures / Progress Step .1. Case/Lighting ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks. Yeah first one. I have been stalking the Water forums since the beginning of the summer to get an idea of what to buy and how to set it up. I must say, there is a ton of helpful people here. I hope to get some good numbers so I can finally OC the Q6600.
