Blowing it up was easy
To save space inside the case, I removed PSU housing. I licked my fingure and touched it... j/k, but I guess something got tangled in the wires (I have a lot of them exposed) and created a short circuit.Thank you!

Thanks, Ducky!
Totally forgot about case holders. I decided to use ConstructX cubes, instead of acrylic cement, because I wanted to make the case easily modifiable and transportable. ![]() ![]() I also did routing of the edges for internal pieces and some wall edges. It turned out to be a little tricky because the router bit for the Dremel was a little longer than the thickness of the acrylic, so I had to layer two pieces (including circles) to get done right. I also don't have a router attachment, so I used a line/circle guide attachment instead. ![]()

I had totally no time to work on this mod during the week, so here is what I was able to get done on the weekend, balancing all the other things (saw "Dark Night" in IMAX for the first time :\ - it was great!).
Drive bays: I used standard standoffs, drilled and routed the holes in the bottom acrylic piece. I didn't like the look of exposed screws on the ouside, that's why I used a router bit to hide the screws inside the surface: ![]() I did a similar thing with my hard drive, but used red 1/8" transparent acrylic to continue the - bronze on the outside, red on the inside - theme: ![]() I cut out and drilled/routed holes in a small piece of acrylic to be used as a drive spacer: ![]() And after putting all three together (and adding a tiny red bar to hold HDD against the wall) it now looks like this: ![]() ![]() I created one of the two fan guards (not sure how I am going to have patience for the other one ):![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Because my DVD drive was set against one corners of the case, I was unable to use a ConstructX cube for it, so I cut, sanded, polished and drilled a custom corner instead: ![]() Little by little I expanded the hole and with light force pushed the standoff into it. ![]() I also cut out and sanded the back of the case last week, but I forgot to show it: ![]() PS: I know that a lot of this stuff looks dirty and messy, but I am still not ready to remove all the covers, knowing my tendancy to accidental scratching. And I still need to do a fair amount of polishing (leaving it for last )

Lookin' good, and coming along nicely.
![]() You are wise to leave the protective backing on the on the panels for as long as possible.

Because my PSU is without housing I needed a faceplate. It still needs quite a bit of filing/sanding/polishing. The two holes on the right are done very poorly, but they will be covered by the power switch and plug:
![]() ![]() I also cut out the motherboard tray holders and as in previous case they need major filing/sanding done: ![]() I made an additional cut in the motherboard tray to accomodate a 120mm case fan that will be mounted on its side:
