Nice Tempest, but if you put the 120mm exhaust fan back on the side panel, your 4850 temps would drop alot.

Thanks

I don`t know...Sapphire covered all covered with plastic, and it will blow air into the hot one that comes from the card...there is lot of talk about side fans...and from mine, and many other guys expirience, it damage the normal airflow from botom to the top ^^^\<<<

Also it will block window a bit, and I`ll get some Thermalright V2 and get those temps 40C under load.

I took the side fan off my Tempest and started having temp issues both with my 4850 (when it was stock cooled) and with inside case temps.

not to to hijack, because your pc is comming out nicely.

this is my tempest "mod"

first off, i would suggest rotating the cpu heatsink so that it blows up and out the back 140mm fan, creating better airflow, and moving the back 120mm to blow into the heatsink. this provides your cpu with consistant fresh air and a direct exit (as heat rises anyways).

i also have my side 120mm blowing into my case towards my 260gtx cards giving them fresh air and leaving the two front 120mm fans blowing into the HDD cage. in theory since heat rises, you should have majoirty of the heat passing though the top 140mm fans, the gfx 2nd slot (if you have a 2 slot card), and the psu's heat just goes though the psu like always.

my Q9650 is clocked to 4.3ghz and has 0 heat issues.

as far as the mod, i got some fans that rotate colors between red, blue, and green and tossed them in. i hoped they would be in sync and rotate at the same rate, but they dont, but the effect i get from people when they see my pc at a lan is amazing. you look at it for a sec, then look away, when their eyes wonder back it is usually a completely diffrent color scheme on the inside. and to contrast with the changing colors, my psu is modular and features red, blue, and green light up plugs.

thoughts?

I just got on this thread but i really like what you are doing to your Tempest. I have had that case for about a year but I can't seem to find a good way to manage the cables. If you have any pics of your cable management system wolfy87 please post them. I really like the other mods and they have actually inspired me to work on some modding for mine.
